The Nissan Frontier 2024 Arrives With Great Expectations, Ready to Compete Directly With Current Segment Leaders, Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, Promising Innovations and Sophistication in the Mid-Size Pickup Market.
The new generation of the Nissan Frontier, set for 2024, marks a significant milestone for Nissan, being its largest global launch of the year. The Japanese pickup, part of a partnership between Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi, brings innovations that promise to place it at the top of the segment.
With dimensions similar to the Mitsubishi L200, the new Frontier will measure 5.36 meters in length, 3.13 meters in wheelbase, 1.93 meters in width, and 1.81 meters in height. Its bed will hold up to 1000 liters and support a ton. The exterior design features the famous Nissan grill with the chrome V and split headlights with full LED lighting. The sides will have elongated silhouettes, while the rear will feature LED taillights and a chrome iron bumper.
Engine and Performance
The Nissan Frontier 2024 will maintain the 2.3 bi-turbo diesel engine but with improvements to deliver over 200 horsepower and approximately 50 kg of torque. And of course, the pickup will have options for mild hybrid versions, following the trend of the Hilux in Europe. The seven-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 traction will be maintained, with the addition of an electrical system and a 48V generator, promising better fuel efficiency and superior performance.

Launch and Market
Set to launch in the first half of 2024, the Nissan Frontier will first arrive in Europe, as the Navara, and will then be manufactured in other markets, including Latin America. With the new generation, Nissan hopes to make significant strides over the current model, seizing the opportunity before the launch of the new generation of the Toyota Hilux in 2025. The Frontier will be produced in Argentina, benefiting from favorable tax agreements, while the L200 Triton, its platform sister, will be manufactured in Brazil.
The new Nissan Frontier 2024 is positioned to be a strong competitor in the pickup market, bringing a combination of performance, technology, and sophistication. With its arrival, it is expected that the model will challenge the segment leaders and provide consumers with a robust and technologically advanced option in the mid-size pickup market.
