With a Revamped Look and Cutting-Edge Technology, the New Generation of the Pickup Arrives with a Renovated Interior, More Connectivity, Unprecedented Hybrid Engine, and Expected Debut in Global Markets in 2025.

Toyota Unveiled Unreleased Images of the Interior of the New Generation of the Hilux, Reinforcing Its Commitment to Modernizing Its Mid-Size Pickup, One of the Best-Selling Models in the Segment.

The leak, attributed to patent records released by vehicle-specialized profiles, revealed details that mark a significant transformation in the utility vehicle’s cabin, highlighting the arrival of advanced technologies and a new standard of finishing.

The launch of the Toyota Hilux 2026 is expected at the end of this year in Asian markets and should arrive in Brazil in 2026.

For the first time, it is possible to clearly observe the new internal layout of the ninth generation of the Hilux.

The central panel brings a floating multimedia center of approximately 12 inches, prominently positioned in the front area of the vehicle.

Right below, the air vents have been redesigned, following the design trend seen in global models of the Japanese brand, such as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

The fully digital instrument panel joins a remodeled center console that features a raised transmission tunnel and a new gear selector, highlighting Toyota’s concern to align the Hilux with the expectations of consumers seeking comfort and sophistication.

Although the steering wheel was not shown in the images, experts indicate that it should follow the style already used in the brand’s premium SUVs, ensuring a more ergonomic driving experience.

Competitiveness Against Rivals and Market Leadership

The strategy to renew the interior is a direct response to criticisms received by the previous generation, particularly in comparison to rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Chevrolet S10, which have invested heavily in onboard technology and refined finishes in recent years.

In key markets, such as Brazil and Argentina, the Hilux has been leading in sales for years but has been pressured by the evolution of competitors.

According to data from the National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), the pickup maintained national leadership in 2024, with more than 52,000 units registered, but was already facing a decline in market share against rival launches.

The expectation is that the new interior of the Toyota Hilux 2026 will bring more comfort, connectivity, and a sense of modernity to the occupants.

Among the innovations, the introduction of a customizable digital panel stands out, allowing the driver to intuitively view navigation, performance, and safety information.

The 12-inch multimedia center promises total integration with smartphones, voice commands, and remote update systems, keeping up with the standard of the most technological pickups on the market.

Hybrid Engine and Mechanical Innovations

In terms of mechanics, Toyota confirmed few structural changes to the Hilux platform, which continues to use the IMV base, but receives improvements to ensure greater robustness and comfort.

One of the major highlights, however, is the introduction of the hybrid version, marking the definitive entry of the pickup into the world of electrified vehicles.

The 2.8 turbo-diesel engine remains available, now associated with a micro-hybrid system, contributing to emissions reduction and better performance under different usage conditions.

For the top-of-the-line version, the sector’s expectation is that the 2.4 turbo plug-in hybrid set will be offered, already used in models such as the Land Cruiser Prado.

According to information released in July 2025, this hybrid system delivers a combined power of 326 horsepower and torque of 64.2 kgfm, ensuring superior performance without compromising energy efficiency.

Despite the evolution, there is still no official confirmation regarding the final name of the new generation.

In patent records from Thailand, the nomenclature used was Hilux Travo, which could be maintained or changed according to Toyota’s commercial strategy in each region.

Mass production is scheduled for the last quarter of 2025, with sales starting in Asian and Oceanic markets by December.

Global Launch and Expectations in Brazil

In addition to Asian markets, the new generation of the Toyota Hilux will be offered in strategic countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Thailand, South Africa, Chile, Indonesia, and Australia.

In Argentina, where the pickup is produced to supply all of South America, the expectation is that the first national units will start coming off the assembly line as early as 2026.

The bet on a completely renovated interior reflects the pursuit of meeting new global standards of demand, especially in terms of connectivity, ergonomics, and safety.

According to industry analysts, Toyota wants to ensure that the Hilux maintains its position as a sales leader even in the face of increasingly sophisticated rivals, such as the new generation of the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S10, and even emerging Chinese models.

Experts also emphasize that the launch of the hybrid version of the Hilux aligns the Japanese brand’s strategy with its global commitment to sustainability.

The progressive electrification of Toyota’s portfolio is part of the company’s environmental goals, which seeks to increase the share of hybrid and electric vehicles in all markets by 2030.

Toyota Hilux 2026: Modernity and Challenge in the Pickup Segment

While the new model does not arrive at Brazilian dealerships, enthusiasts are waiting to see if the more modern interior, technological advancements, and the availability of the hybrid engine will be enough to consolidate the pickup’s leadership in the national and international market.

Will the new Toyota Hilux 2026, with its new interior and 326 hp hybrid engine, meet the expectations of the most demanding consumers and maintain its position at the top of sales? Do you believe the changes presented by the brand will be enough to convince those considering switching to competitors? Join the conversation with your comment!
