Brazil Will Be Responsible For Business Management In 34 Countries Of Vestas, The Danish Manufacturer Global Leader In Wind Turbine Production
The new president of Vestas for Latin America, Eduardo Ricotta, visited Ceará this Thursday, 10. He was at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, getting to know the port terminal’s infrastructure and met with the board. The company is the global leader in wind turbine production and heavily uses the infrastructure of the Pecém Port for cargo movements.

Eduardo Ricotta assumed the position in April of this year and has since held introductory meetings with clients and important business partners for Vestas, such as the Pecém Port.

Vestas Creates Operational Unit For Latin America And Brazil Will Be Responsible For Business Management In 34 Countries Of The Danish
The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas announced a new operational model and, starting January 1, 2022, will have a Latin American unit, Vestas Latin America, which will be led by Eduardo Ricotta, the company’s president in Brazil since April 2021, who will report directly to the global CEO of the group.
The new unit will encompass 34 countries in Latin America and will be considered a business sub-region. In May, Vestas announced that the operation in Brazil, the main market in the region, reached 5 GW of orders for the V150-4.2 MW turbine, with a capacity of 4.2 MW. Of that total, 2 GW have already been produced.
Vestas has approximately 2.5 GW in operation and 4.6 GW awarded. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains onshore and offshore wind turbines worldwide, with over 136 GW of installed capacity in 84 countries.
Produced at Vestas’ factory in Aquiraz, Ceará, under Finame-BNDES regulations, the V150-4.2 MW turbines have 105-meter steel towers and 73.7-meter-long blades, manufactured by Aeris in Pecém (CE). The wind turbines have contracts with projects from Echoenergia in Serra do Mel, totaling 273 MW (65 units), Casa dos Ventos in Folha Larga (BA), totaling 152.2 MW, Engie in Campo Largo (BA), totaling 361.2 MW (86 units), and Qair in Serrote (CE), totaling 205.8 MW.
