Inside, there is a spacious and practical cabin with room for up to seven people, while the middle row has a range of electric adjustments, meaning it can be moved forward or backward, depending on whether you need more legroom or trunk space. All cars come with five seats as standard, with the two extra chairs added as an optional extra.
Even with the second row positioned in its rearmost position, there are still 654 liters of trunk space, increasing to 880 liters with them slid forward. With all the seats down, 2,100 liters of space is freed up. These numbers decrease slightly in the seven-seater version, with 195 liters available with all seats in place, or 800 liters with the last row folded. All seats folded provide up to 2,020 liters of storage.

660 km Range and Autonomous Technology Highlight the Model
At the front, you will find the latest Hyperscreen system from Mercedes. Available as an option, it combines three screens under a curved piece of glass to create a super-wide display. There is a screen for the front passenger, a central screen for navigation and media functions, and then a full screen for the driver.
There is also an option to have two 11.6-inch displays located on the backs of the driver and front passenger’s seats, providing additional entertainment to the middle-row passengers.
The exterior of the EQS SUV follows the example of the company’s other electric cars, with a large light bar connecting the slim headlights, with a smoothed black grille placed in the middle. Flush door handles complete the aerodynamic look, while alloy wheels are available in sizes of up to 22 inches.
A Mercedes-Benz Electric Car Exceeded 1,000 km of Range
The prototype Mercedes Vision EQXX covered the distance between the German automaker’s headquarters and the French Riviera, finishing the journey with 15% of the battery power still intact. According to the German manufacturer, the car traveled from Sindelfingen, near Stuttgart, through Switzerland and Italy, to the Mediterranean coastal city of Cassis in France.
Considered “the most efficient and aerodynamic electric car,” the EQXX was introduced at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, at which time it was estimated to have a range of about 1,000 km. Indeed, according to Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz, “the technology program behind this prototype marks a milestone in the development of electric vehicles.”
Mercedes plans to spend €60 billion by 2026 to surpass Tesla in the electric vehicle field and reclaim the title of the world’s best-selling premium car brand from rival BMW.
After years of criticism for delaying the adoption of electric cars, the German manufacturer has ramped up its transformation by launching the Mercedes EQS, a luxury vehicle with a range of about 560 km. More recently, the brand also launched the electric models EQB and EQE, but it remains behind Tesla in the zero-emission vehicle sales field.
With the EQXX, Mercedes is trying to prove it can outperform Tesla even in this company’s strong points, electric range. The prototype traveled between Sindelfingen and Cassis at speeds of up to 140 km/h and arrived at its destination with 15% of the battery still charged.
