New Suzuki Vitara Marks Suzuki’s Return to the Brazilian Market in 2026, Arrives 100% Electric, with 424 km of Range, Recharge from 10% to 80% in 25 Minutes, Complete Safety Package and Focused on Competing with Volvo EX30 in the 250 Thousand Range in the Electric SUVs Segment

After seeing the Jimny Sierra discontinued in 2025 for not meeting the new emissions standards and spending months without any new models in dealerships, Suzuki is using the new generation of the Suzuki Vitara to competitively attempt a comeback to Brazil starting in 2026. The offensive begins with the official presentation of the electric SUV at the 2025 Auto Show, scheduled for November 22 to 30, a showcase in which the brand aims to reposition its image in the country.

With a 100% electric motor, fast recharge from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes, and a declared range of 424 km in the WLTP cycle, the Suzuki Vitara arrives directly targeting the Volvo EX30 and other compact electric SUVs in the 250 thousand reais range. The bet combines an advanced safety package, a more sophisticated interior, a larger size than the previous generation, and the brand’s traditional propensity for urban use with a touch of versatility for mild off-road use.

Suzuki’s Return to the Brazilian Market

The new Suzuki Vitara arrives as an electric SUV in 2026, with highlighted range, directly targeting the Volvo EX30 in the 250 thousand range and repositioning Petrobras in the context of charging and Brazilian electric infrastructure.

The absence of the brand in 2025, after the removal of the Jimny Sierra, left the dealership network without new products and distanced Suzuki from the main debate among compact SUVs.

The electric Suzuki Vitara is now treated as the relaunch vehicle for the operation, with both symbolic and strategic roles.

The new generation was developed on a more modern platform, designed from the outset to accommodate electric powertrains and advanced driving assistance systems.

The brand’s strategy is to reposition the Suzuki Vitara as a more sophisticated compact SUV, capable of competing for space with niche models but with significant volume in large urban centers.

Dimensions, Interior Space and Trunk

The new Suzuki Vitara has grown compared to the model sold until 2023.

It measures 4.27 meters in length, 2.70 meters in wheelbase, 1.80 meters in width, and 1.64 meters in height, with a weight of around 1,799 kg, a typical value for 100% electric SUVs.

Thanks to its long wheelbase, the space for five occupants significantly improves, especially the accommodation for adults in the rear seat.

The 562-liter trunk places the Suzuki Vitara among the best in its category for luggage capacity, an important advantage for families using the car for trips and weekend getaways.

Electric Powertrain, Range, and Ultra-Fast Charging

The electric Suzuki Vitara uses a front motor with 174 horsepower and 19.6 kgfm of torque, in front-wheel or all-wheel drive configuration, depending on the version.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in about 8.7 seconds places the model on par with the performance of turbocharged combustion SUVs of similar size.

The batteries have a capacity of 61 kWh and, according to the WLTP protocol, deliver a range of 424 km on a single charge, a competitive number within the compact electric SUV segment.

The big play is the ultra-fast charging system: at a high-power station, the brand reports that the Suzuki Vitara charges from 10 to 80% in approximately 25 minutes, reducing range anxiety and making it more predictable to use on trips.

More Modern Exterior Design Aimed at the Global Market

The design of the new Suzuki Vitara follows the brand’s global language, with strong inspiration from next-generation urban SUVs.

The front features a robust black bumper, full LED headlights, and integrated fog lights, reinforcing the impression of a more technological vehicle.

In profile, the coupe-style roofline, two-tone paint, and 18-inch wheels bring the Suzuki Vitara closer to the aesthetics of current models like HR-V and Kicks.

At the rear, the integrated spoiler and interconnected LED taillights create a more sophisticated visual signature, even though the central bar is merely decorative, without lighting.

Interior, Connectivity, and Finish

Inside, the evolution is even clearer.

The new Suzuki Vitara now offers a dashboard with soft-touch materials, leather in key areas, and more refined assembly, leaving behind the image of a simple cabin from the previous generation.

The interior environment has been designed to please an audience that today directly compares with entry-level premium brands.

The list of features includes configurable LED ambient lighting, a sunroof, keyless entry, electronic parking brake, auto-hold function, rotary gear selector, driving and traction modes, wireless phone charger, and a sound system signed by Infinity.

The instrument panel is fully digital, with a configurable 10-inch display, and the multimedia center, also 10 inches, offers 360-degree camera, native GPS, and wireless mirroring for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety Package: Standard Driving Assistants

In the new generation, the Suzuki Vitara is no longer a supporting player in active safety.

The SUV now features collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, speed limit sign reading, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.

There is also detection of pedestrians, cyclists, and animals, automatic high beam switching, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, an important feature for urban traffic jams.

All versions come with six airbags, traction and stability controls, and other expected electronic systems in a modern SUV in the 250 thousand reais range.

Expected Price, Rivals, and Challenges in Brazil

Currently, compact electric SUVs like the Volvo EX30 occupy the price range between 230 thousand and 280 thousand reais in Brazil, depending on the version.

In this scenario, the expectation is that the Suzuki Vitara will arrive close to 250 thousand reais in the entry-level configurations to gain initial traction, although the brand’s tradition is to set higher prices over time.

The direct target is the Volvo EX30 itself, a reference among urban compact electrics, in addition to other 100% electric models starting to fill this same price range.

To stand out, the Suzuki Vitara bets on the combination of realistic range, fast charging, good trunk space, and a complete safety package, trying to justify the higher ticket compared to well-equipped medium hybrid SUVs and combustion SUVs.

The big unknown is whether the brand’s network and public perception will be sufficient to sustain volume in an increasingly competitive segment, with a strong presence of manufacturers already established in electrification.

What Is at Stake with the Arrival of the Electric Suzuki Vitara

If it meets the presentation schedule at the end of 2025 and sales begin in 2026, the Suzuki Vitara could put the brand back on the Brazilian map at a time of transition to electrification and increasing regulatory pressure on emissions.

The project offers a coherent package of performance, range, technology, and safety, but will have to face a tough competition against established rivals and skepticism from some of the public regarding the cost of an electric vehicle in the 250 thousand range.

In your case, would you put the electric Suzuki Vitara on your shopping list in this price range, or do you still prefer to bet on a hybrid or combustion SUV for the same 250 thousand?
