Toyota Will Launch the Yaris Cross 2025, Hybrid SUV, in Brazil: Affordable Price and Flexible Technology to Conquer the Market.

After disappointments with models like the T-Cross 2025 and Nivus GTS, Toyota bets on the new Yaris Cross 2025 to turn the tide. Will this hybrid SUV be enough to surpass the competition and win over Brazilians?

Toyota, one of the most beloved brands in Brazil, decided to respond to losing ground to Volkswagen, Hyundai, and Jeep by launching the long-awaited Toyota Yaris Cross 2025. This hybrid SUV is the new bet to attract consumers and compete with models like the Chevrolet Tracker and Jeep Renegade.

Design and Performance of the Toyota Yaris Cross 2025

The Toyota Yaris Cross 2025 is built on the TNGA platform, the same used in renowned models like the Corolla and Corolla Cross. The car measures 4.31 meters in length, has a wheelbase of 2.62 meters, a width of 1.77 meters, and a height of 1.61 meters. With a trunk space of 405 liters and a design reminiscent of a mini Corolla Cross, the SUV features a hexagonal grille, full LED headlights, and a two-tone paint job.

In terms of engine, the Yaris Cross offers a 1.5 aspirated flex engine with 111 horsepower and 15 kgfm of torque in the base versions. The top versions come with a hybrid system that combines a 1.5 gasoline engine with an electric motor, totaling between 120 and 130 horsepower. This hybrid system is flex, ensuring fuel economy of up to 21.7 km/l in the city.

Equipment and Comfort

The interior of the Toyota Yaris Cross 2025 mixes hard plastics and synthetic leather, comfortably accommodating four adults and one child. In terms of technology, the SUV comes equipped with a digital dashboard, multifunction steering wheel, induction charging, configurable ambient lighting, keyless entry, digital air conditioning, and a 9-inch multimedia center with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additionally, it includes a panoramic sunroof, JBL premium sound system, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and driving modes. In safety, the model does not disappoint, providing seven airbags, traction and stability control, collision warning, and ACC (adaptive cruise control).

Price and Availability

The Toyota Yaris Cross 2025 will be produced at the Sorocaba plant in São Paulo, with an investment of R$ 1.6 billion, sharing the assembly line with the new Yaris Sedan. The launch is scheduled for the second half of this year, with prices ranging from R$ 100,000 for PCD versions to R$ 180,000 for hybrid configurations.

With the new Toyota Yaris Cross 2025, the Japanese manufacturer aims to reclaim leadership in the compact SUV segment. The model promises to be a competitive and attractive option, combining an affordable price, hybrid and flex technology, and a robust list of equipment. The Brazilian market eagerly awaits to see if the Yaris Cross will truly fulfill its promises and capture consumers’ hearts.

The Toyota Yaris Cross 2025 will compete directly with the Chevrolet Tracker and the Jeep Renegade because they all belong to the compact SUV segment, one of the most popular in Brazil. The Tracker offers efficient turbo engines and a range of versions ranging from R$ 100,000 to R$ 150,000, standing out for its advanced connectivity and safety systems. The Renegade, priced between R$ 110,000 and R$ 170,000, is known for its robust engine options, including diesel and 4×4 versions, along with its strong off-road appeal and comfort features.

The Toyota Yaris Cross 2025 stands out for its hybrid flex engine, an important differentiator in terms of fuel economy and sustainability. With prices ranging from R$ 100,000 to R$ 180,000, it offers excellent cost-benefit, combining a modern design, a wide list of safety and technology equipment, and the reliability of the Toyota brand. These features make the Yaris Cross a highly competitive option in the compact SUV market, positioning it well against rivals Tracker and Renegade.

Toyota’s Success in Brazil Continues

Toyota has a successful trajectory in Brazil that began in 1958, with the production of the Bandeirante jeep. Since then, the brand has solidified its presence in the Brazilian market with vehicles that stand out for their durability, quality, and technology. The Corolla, launched in 1994, is a clear example of this success, being the best-selling sedan in Brazil for several consecutive years. In 2020, Toyota expanded its lineup with the Corolla Cross, which quickly became one of the best-selling SUVs, reinforcing the brand’s image of trust and innovation.

Heavy investments are also part of Toyota’s strategy in Brazil. Recently, the company allocated R$ 1.6 billion to modernize the Sorocaba plant, where the new Yaris Cross and Yaris Sedan will be produced. The Japanese brand is also a pioneer in hybrid technology in the country, with models like the Prius and Corolla Hybrid. This commitment to sustainability and technological innovation meets the growing demands of Brazilian consumers for more efficient and eco-friendly vehicles. Additionally, Toyota maintains a high standard of customer service and has a wide network of dealerships, contributing to customer loyalty and the ongoing success of the brand in the domestic market.
