The Cedro Plant, from the Pedra Agroindustrial Group, located in Paranaíba – MS, is a large project that is expected to generate up to 3,000 direct and indirect jobs by 2025.
The Secretary of Semagro, Jaime Verruck, met with the company’s director, Luiz Roberto Kaysel, last Friday (03) to discuss matters related to the plant. During the meeting, Verruck estimated that the plant will have a positive impact on the economic and environmental development of the region. In addition, the family agricultural production was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Government, Pedro Caravina, and Governor Eduardo Riedel. The project foresees investments of approximately 400 million reais, which will transform the city’s economy. It is another region of the State that will benefit from private capital.
The State Government will promote infrastructure works, such as the implementation of a roundabout and access to the new plant, to encourage the development of the region. These works will be funded by the Pró-Desenvolve program and aim to facilitate the transportation of production and the work of the plant’s employees.

The company Kaysel stated that it is investing in the State and that the construction of the plant will begin operations in 2025. It already has over 3,000 hectares of sugarcane planted, with more than 500 employees involved in industrial assembly and transfer. The intention is to create a favorable environment for local and regional development.
