With Over R$650 Million in Cash for Expanding Its Factory in the State of São Paulo, Novelis Will Increase Its Production Capacity and Job Creation
On November 12 of this month, Novelis announced through press releases its new investment for expansion at its factory in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, approximately R$ 650 million. It is noteworthy that Novelis is one of the largest companies in the beverage cans and other specialties sector, which will maximize the current production of 100 thousand tons per year of sheets to 680 thousand. For recycling systems, this jump will be from the current 60 thousand to 450 thousand tons/year.
Additionally, the project will include a new system to capture water, after the company successfully secured an area equivalent to 380 thousand square meters, which will facilitate future installations and capacities.

Start of Construction
Novelis reported that construction will begin in February 2019 with an expected duration of 2 years or until 2021. The production capacity of plates, rolling, recycling, and other optimizations will be increased, about 50 new job openings will be created (Check out some open positions here).
