Ocyan Reaches An Important Milestone In Maintenance Through Its Drillship Norbe IX, Saving Resources And Optimizing Services
The drillship Norbe IX, owned by Ocyan, completed its first offshore maintenance stop. Typically, drillships are docked in shipyards or in Guanabara Bay (RJ) for maintenance stops, but the good planning and the time of year with favorable weather conditions allowed the planned stop to be made offshore, without the ship leaving the well location.
Done this way, the procedure allowed for cost and efficiency gains. During the 18 days of maintenance, monitored by the client on-site, 21 companies worked in synergy and over 34,000 man-hours of work were completed.
The major highlight was in safety, with no incidents recorded during the stop.
