OOS Energy, Subsidiary of Dutch Company OOS International, Took Over the Semi-Submersible Drilling Platform ODN Delba III from Ocyan

OOS International said last week that the onshore and offshore management teams of OOS Energy Rig Management took over the management of the platform on November 7. The company added that the management and office team began preparing the rig for its trip to Mexico after delivery.

The preparation included finalizing all necessary documentation and certification, according to the interim audits conducted and successfully approved.

According to OOS, the ODN Delba III departed from Guanabara Bay on Saturday, November 9, to work on a project in Mexico.

A report from Monday by Norwegian brokerage Bassoe Offshore stated that OOS had acquired the ODN Delba III in cooperation with a banking consortium. According to Bassoe, the platform will operate for the Mexican oil and gas company Pemex.

The contract for the ODN Delba III is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2020. The rig will work for Pemex for three years (1,095 days), at a daily rate of US $ 145,000.

The rig, built by International Management & Construction Corporation (IMCC) in 2011, is capable of drilling to a depth of 2,400 meters.

After the sale of the ODN Delba III, Ocyan owns five deepwater platforms, four of which are drilling ships and one is a semi-submersible. All platforms are chartered to large Petrobras. On the Marine Traffic website you can find more information about this rig.

OOS Energy also owns the drilling ship OOS Tiger 1, which also received a contract with Pemex in Mexico in September 2018.
