The ATER Green Grant Workshop in Bragança (PA) Brings Together Producers, Conab, and Entities to Strengthen Family Agriculture and Promote Sustainable Practices in Environmental Preservation Areas
The ATER Green Grant Workshop begins this Tuesday (21st) in Bragança, in northeastern Pará, bringing together public institutions, rural producers, and representatives of family agribusiness for four days of activities focused on sustainability and the strengthening of public policies in the field, according to a report published.
The event, which runs until the 24th of October, aims to primarily expand local communities’ access to technical assistance and rural extension actions (ATER), integrating different agents for sustainable development and income generation in environmental preservation areas.
Hosted at the University of Brazil (UAB), the workshop features a diverse program with training sessions, lectures, and practical demonstrations.
-
With earth, bamboo, straw, and lime mortar, a specialist builds a house for just over $460 and draws attention for its cost being much lower than traditional construction.
-
Forgotten region becomes a powerhouse in the heart of Brazil, transforming unproductive lands into fortune and making MATOPIBA the new billion-dollar agricultural empire that almost no one saw being born.
-
With a 775 hp engine, the world’s largest axial combine harvester arrives in Brazil, promising to harvest more in less time with advanced automation and the capacity for platforms up to 61 feet.
-
With 18 million feet, giant farms, and 2.2 million sacks per year, a mining group is building a coffee empire in Brazil with heavy mechanization, giant silos, and exports to various continents.
One highlight will be the participation of the National Supply Company (Conab), which will conduct a technical demonstration on the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) on October 22nd from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
The activity aims to guide managers and producers regarding the use of the program’s system, its operational stages, and ways to access family agriculture funding policies.
Sustainability and Strengthening of Family Agriculture in Pará
The ATER Green Grant Workshop also plays a crucial role in promoting productive sustainability in the state.
During the meeting, representatives from the Beekeepers Association of Bragança (Ameliapis) and the Municipal Association of Rural Producers in Family Agriculture of Capanema (Amprafc) will share successful experiences of participation in the PAA.
These accounts reinforce the importance of the program as a tool for secure marketing and valuing local production, especially in traditional and small-scale communities.
Additionally, Systemica Agrosocioenvironmental, a company contracted by Sebrae, will provide free technical support to the participating organizations.
The consultancy will assist in the development and management of projects aimed at family agriculture in the Caetés region, enhancing the technical capacity and operational efficiency of rural enterprises.
The company will also present the results of already approved projects and those in the contracting phase, strengthening the link between technical assistance and practical results in the field.
Integrated Public Policies and Technical Training from Conab
The second day of the ATER Green Grant Workshop will highlight a lecture led by the Superintendent of Conab in Pará, Rosanna Vallinoto, and the Operations and Strategic Support Manager (Geose), Raimundo Nonato da Cruz Filho.
Both will present details about the functioning of the PAA system and the importance of integrating public policies and technical execution to ensure greater efficiency in actions aimed at family agriculture.
This initiative reinforces the relevance of food security policies and productive inclusion in Pará, promoting alignment between federal, state, and municipal agencies.
By connecting managers, technicians, and beneficiaries, the workshop encourages inter-institutional cooperation and expands the reach of programs like the PAA, which directly acts in the purchase of food produced by family farmers and its distribution to schools, hospitals, and food banks.
Integration, Income, and Environmental Preservation at the ATER Green Grant Workshop
The ATER Green Grant Workshop is recognized as one of the main support instruments for communities living in conservation areas and restricted-use territories.
The program aims to strengthen the sustainable management of natural resources, promoting economic alternatives that reduce environmental impact and improve family income.
This collaborative approach boosts sustainable rural development, making Pará a reference in ecological-based agriculture practices and social inclusion.
During the four-day event, participants will have access to practical guidelines on the operation of federal programs, exchange experiences, and networking opportunities between public and private institutions.
The presence of entities such as Conab, Sebrae, and local associations reinforces the collective commitment to innovation in the field and the consolidation of policies focused on social and environmental well-being.
The ATER Green Grant Workshop reaffirms the importance of integrating technical and traditional knowledge, strengthening the role of rural producers in building a greener and more inclusive economy, especially in strategic regions like northeastern Pará.
