Discover how Oncorp’s victory in recent auctions boosts plants to biodiesel, natural gas, and diesel, expanding the diversification of the national electricity matrix.
Initially, Oncorp achieved a strategic victory in the energy sector on Friday (20), by winning an auction for thermoelectric plants.
Thus, the company secured the implementation of one of the first biodiesel plants in the country, consolidating its role in diversifying the electricity matrix.
Furthermore, the result reinforces the company’s role in the energy transition, according to the sector’s own assessment.

Contracted projects reinforce energy diversification
In this context, Oncorp won the bidding with two relevant projects, expanding its presence in the thermal segment.
On one hand, the UTE Xavantes Aruanã, powered by diesel, was contracted for three years.
On the other hand, the UTEBIO Xavantes Aruanã, aimed at biodiesel, was also secured with a ten-year contract.
In this way, the biodiesel project represents an important advancement, as it incorporates more sustainable solutions in a sector traditionally dependent on fossil fuels.
At the same time, these plants are used during periods of higher demand in the electrical system.
Results add to the capacity reserve auction of 2026
Additionally, the achievement on Friday (20) is directly connected to another recent result.
On Wednesday (18), during the Capacity Reserve Auction (LRCAP) of 2026, natural gas thermoelectric plants stood out.
According to data from the Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), 18.977 GW of power was contracted, with a discount of 5.52%.
In this scenario, Oncorp also emerged victorious, securing the implementation of the UTE Frevo, located in Suape, Pernambuco.
The project will have an approximate capacity of 20 MW and will involve an estimated investment of R$ 103 million, according to CCEE.
Gas infrastructure expands regional reach
Moreover, the company is advancing with the development of the regasification terminal (Regás) in Suape.
Thus, this project is considered strategic for increasing the supply of natural gas in the Northeast.
In fact, the terminal had more than 11 guaranteed supplies in the auction, serving thermoelectric plants from Espírito Santo to Ceará.
In this way, the structure strengthens energy integration between different regions of the country.
Executive highlights the company’s pioneering spirit and strategy
According to João Guilherme Mattos, CEO of Oncorp, the results reinforce the company’s positioning.
He stated that the biodiesel auction highlights the search for more efficient and sustainable solutions for the national electricity system.
Additionally, he emphasized that the plant will be the first biodiesel plant in the National Interconnected System, after a competition considered fierce.
Still, the project presented a discount close to 50% compared to the initial values, being considered strategic by the company.
At the same time, the executive highlighted the company’s performance throughout the week.
According to him, Oncorp secured three distinct projects: gas, biodiesel, and diesel, in addition to advancing with the regasification terminal.
Diverse portfolio strengthens national operations
Finally, with these results obtained between the 18th and 20th, Oncorp diversifies its energy portfolio.
Thus, the company combines innovation, sustainability, and energy security, strengthening its presence in different regions of Brazil.
In this way, the company consolidates its strategy by integrating different generation sources, meeting varied demands of the national electricity system.
