María Corina Machado Confirms U.S. Support to Leave Venezuela and Reach the Nobel Peace Prize, Despite Regime Pressure.

What happened? María Corina Machado, the leading figure of the Venezuelan opposition, confirmed that she received support from the United States to leave Venezuela and travel to Norway, where she would be honored with the Nobel Peace Prize this week.

Who? The most influential opposition leader in the country, internationally recognized.
When? The departure took place on Tuesday (9).

Where? She left Venezuela, passed through Curaçao, and was headed to Oslo, Norway.

How? With logistical assistance and discreet support whose origin she did not detail and under intense pressure from the Venezuelan regime.

Why? The trip aimed to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, recognition that symbolizes the democratic struggle led by the Venezuelan opposition.

Upon arriving in Oslo, after a journey marked by risks, Machado stated that she could not reveal details about who helped her escape. “I cannot provide details because these are people who could be harmed,” she stated.

U.S. Support and Secrecy About the Escape Route

María Corina Machado confirmed that she received international assistance, especially from the U.S. government, to leave Venezuela without being detained by authorities.

When asked by journalists, she responded directly: “Yes, we received support from the United States government.”

According to her, naming individuals would put allies at risk, considering the strict control exerted by the Venezuelan regime.

Machado also stated that Nicolás Maduro’s government was unaware of her whereabouts before her departure. “Certainly, the regime would have done everything to prevent me from coming.

They didn’t know where I was hiding in Venezuela, so it was difficult for them to detain me,” she declared.

Intense Pressures and Secret Route to Curaçao

The Nobel Peace Prize committee had already informed that the opponent faced “considerable pressure” to manage to travel.

According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal, the Venezuelan opposition leader left the country by boat on Tuesday (9), heading to the Caribbean island of Curaçao.

The strategy aimed to avoid surveillance and prevent any attempts to block her exit. Even so, the complexity of the operation meant that María Corina did not arrive in time for the official ceremony in Oslo.

Daughter Represents the Venezuelan Leader and Reads Emotional Speech

As she was unable to attend the event, the Nobel Peace Prize was received by her daughter, Ana Corina Sosa Machado.

Before international leaders, she read the speech prepared by her mother.

In the text, María Corina Machado emphasizes the importance of democratic resistance not only in Venezuela but throughout the world.

She stated that democracies “must be prepared to fight for freedom to survive.”

The opposition leader also highlighted that international recognition has deep significance for Venezuelans.

“It reminds the world that democracy is essential for peace,” she stated through her daughter. She added:

“And, above all, what we, Venezuelans, can offer the world is the lesson forged in this long and difficult journey: that to have a democracy, we must be willing to fight for freedom.”

Political Significance of International Recognition

María Corina Machado’s selection for the Nobel Peace Prize reinforces the prominence of the Venezuelan opposition in defending civil rights and seeking free elections.

The support from the United States, cited by her, adds a geopolitical component to the narrative, showing how the democratic issue in Venezuela has gained international importance.

Moreover, the episode illustrates the level of risk faced by opposition leaders in the country and the effort to keep democratic mobilization alive.

“Democracia” para essa c.a.d.e.l.a (com as devidas desculpas aos animais, que são muito mais dignos e honrados) significa a entrega do petróleo e outros recursos naturais (algo que ela própria declara abertamente), além de defender a submissão total, recolonização e p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.i.ç.ã.o do seu país pelos EUA. Vergonha alheia desse ser inominável.
