Fenatran 2024 is already on the radar of all automotive enthusiasts, and the new trucks from Volkswagen are set to be the stars of the event. The launches include the Constellation 20.480 and models from the Meteor line, which bring technological innovations, robustness, and much more comfort for drivers. With modernized cabins and more powerful engines, the German brand is ready to compete with giants such as Scania and Volvo.
Volkswagen is preparing to make a splash at Fenatran 2024. The company has already announced the arrival of trucks that will shake up the market, including the Constellation 20.480 and the Meteor line. These heavy-duty vehicles feature innovations that promise to meet the most demanding needs of road transport in Brazil.
Volkswagen Constellation 20.480 and Meteor Line Models Are Highlights

The Constellation 20.480, for example, is equipped with a 13-liter M26 engine, making it ideal for medium-distance operations, such as dry cargo transport and supply between ports. With 480 horsepower, this model reinforces the tradition of the Constellation line, which has been a benchmark in the heavy-duty truck sector since 2005. Ricardo Alouche, vice president of sales at Volkswagen Trucks, highlights that this new truck already has 80 units sold and another 150 in negotiation.

But the big highlight is the Meteor line, launched in 2020, which continues to evolve. The Meteor 28.480 model received the addition of the Highline cabin, equipped with a digital dashboard and over 80 functions. Additionally, the Heavy Duty (HD) version of this truck now has a maximum towing capacity of an impressive 58.5 tons, surpassing the previous 53 tons. This advancement places Volkswagen in an even more competitive position in the heavy-duty market, where it currently ranks fourth, behind only Volvo, Scania, and DAF.
Constant Evolution for a Demanding Market
Since the launch of the Meteor line, Volkswagen‘s market share in the heavy-duty segment has only grown. In September of this year, the brand already reached 12% market share, a leap from the 5% it had before the Meteor arrived. And during peak months, the company reached 18%, temporarily surpassing even DAF.
The new models from the Meteor line offer even more options for customers, with the retarder brake as an option. With six operating stages and 1,225 braking horsepower, the retarder has been increasingly requested by the brand’s customers, even with the additional cost of R$ 35,000. The starting price of the Meteor 28.480 6×2 is around R$ 233,370, reinforcing Volkswagen‘s commitment to delivering quality and technology at a competitive price.
Focus on Comfort and Technological Innovation
In addition to mechanical innovations, comfort has not been overlooked. The Highline cabin, present in models like the Meteor 28.480, features an interior with high-resolution color screens, controlled by a multifunction steering wheel, making it easier to navigate the more than 80 functions of the dashboard. These details make a big difference for drivers who spend long hours on the road.
The question now is: will these new models from Volkswagen exceed expectations and further establish the brand in the heavy-duty market? Which truck caught your attention the most, the Constellation 20.480 or the models from the Meteor line?
