The Pecém Port Complex in Ceará Celebrates the Record Loading of a Giant Wind Blade of 80.1 Meters for the German Nordex — One of the Largest Manufacturers of Wind Turbines in the World!
The size of the wind blade (or propellers) manufactured by Aeris Energy for the German Nordex — one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines in the world — is impressive! The loading of the first unit of this giant — the largest wind blade ever produced in the southern hemisphere – involved a specialized operation. The more than 80 meters in length required the involvement of various professionals, from manufacturing to transportation to the Port of Pecém, in Ceará.

The record loading of the giant wind blade (or propellers) of 80.1 meters for the German Nordex is celebrated by the Pecém Port Complex in Ceará as the largest in the history of the Port!
“This time, we outdid ourselves, breaking our own record this Tuesday (11) by loading a wind blade of an incredible 80.1 meters! A giant from Nordex produced in the Industrial Area of the Pecém Complex and loaded at berth 7 of the Pecém port terminal, following a successful test operation carried out in conjunction with our operational service providers Tecer and Unilink. Just to give you an idea… this giant has more than double the length of the other blades (34.57m each) loaded on the ship Trinitas, which is already on its way to Europe, where the 80.1-meter blade will undergo technical verifications,” celebrates the Pecém Complex on its LinkedIn social network.

The wind blade (or propellers) is more than double the length of the other blades (34.57m each) loaded on the ship Trinitas, and is already on its way to Europe, where the blade will undergo technical verifications, according to the company managing the complex.
The blade was produced by Aeris Energy – a pioneer in the manufacturing process of this type of blade, currently located in the industrial area of the Pecém Complex, at the request of the German Nordex, considered one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines in the world.
The operation involved professionals from some of the companies operating in Pecém, from the blade manufacturer to the transportation companies. A challenge that required a lot of dedication from the entire team, after all, the port had never loaded a wind blade of this size before.
Today, the blades produced by Aeris Energy are exported but are also loaded for various wind farms in Brazil through the Port of Pecém. Last year, the company produced nearly two thousand blades, a record for the company that has been operating since 2010 at the Pecém Complex.
Aeris Manufactured a 74-Meter Giant Blade in March for Vestas, Until Then, the Largest Ever Manufactured by the Company and Loaded Also at the Port of Pecém
In March 2020, a 74-meter blade was loaded, which also required the involvement of various professionals, from manufacturing to transporting the giant wind blade to the Port of Pecém.
The blade (or propeller) was also produced by Aeris Energy, at the request of Vestas, considered the world’s largest company producing wind turbines, and loaded onto the ship Erik, which traveled for approximately ten days to the port of Boston, located in the United States.
Approximately R$ 100 million were invested in infrastructure, equipment, and process development with modern project management tools. Over nearly a year, more than 30 professionals from the company were involved in the manufacturing process of the prototype for the new product, completed in August 2020.
The blades (or propellers) give movement to the wind turbines, also known as wind generators or wind generation systems, equipment that transforms wind energy into electrical energy.
Bladeless Turbines from Vortex Can Revolutionize Wind Farms and Change the World of Renewable Energy
Vortex Bladeless, a technology start-up based in Spain, is developing wind turbines that do not require blades (or propellers). One of the goals is to use these turbines in urban and residential spaces, where the impact of ecological parks would be too great. Similar to a “giant straw,” according to its creators, it came to change the world of renewable energy.
A bladeless turbine (or propellerless) could be the future of wind energy and renewable energy. Vortex Bladeless claims that the turbine is not a danger to bird migration patterns or wildlife, especially if used in urban environments. Additionally, it claims that the noise created would be at a frequency practically undetectable to humans.
