With the Increase in Offshore Activity, Petrobras’s Demand for Support Vessels Grows and the Number of Bids Increases Alongside
The Offshore market does have an impressive supply chain, with the growth of bidding processes for exploratory fields and the consequent hiring of services and exploratory units, another market begins to move, that of marine support vessels.
To meet this demand, Petrobras is promoting bids that anticipate charter contracts for periods between one and four years.
Last Thursday (04/18), Petrobras began receiving proposals for the charter of a diving support vessel (DSV).
The deadline for submitting proposals is short (less than 30 days) and ends on the next day, May 8.

For this bid, Petrobras is requiring that the offered vessel have the capacity to perform, in addition to saturated diving activities at a water depth of 300 meters, support intervention, inspection, maintenance, and repair operations with remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) at a water depth of up to 3,000 meters.
According to the notice, the contract will last for 670 days but may be extended with the possibility of an extension for a maximum of 1,825 days.
Other Bids of This Type
Proving the good moment for this type of business, Petrobras currently has two more bids in the market for contracting offshore support vessels.
The bid for an OSRV (Oil Spill Recovery Vessel) for four years and another for a P5 vessel (Passenger Transport) for one year.
Marine support vessels are responsible for supplying oil platforms and providing underwater installation services
and will be demanded not only by Petrobras but also by foreign oil companies.
Remembering that Belov Engineering, a shipyard in Bahia, is building two SDSV (diving support) vessels for Belov Engineering (Belov Humaitá and Belov Amaralina).
