Comperj: Petrobras adopts testing for Covid-19 in more than 4 workers at the GasLub works in Itaboraí – RJ

Petrobras reported in a material fact that more than 4 professionals at the GasLub works at Comperj, Itaboraí, in Rio de Janeiro were tested for Covid-19.

According to petrobras, “the increase in the activities of the works at Comperj, in which the construction of the Route 3 gas pipeline and the natural gas processing unit (UPGN) and its utility systems (steam, cooling water, etc.) , took place after the decision by the municipal government to authorize the number of workers at the GasLub construction sites to be increased to 65% of the total that worked before the pandemic, as previously requested by the contracted companies”.

The state company says that given the situation, the schedule of the works will be reassessed, since about 2100 workers remain temporarily away from local activities, which represents 35% of the contingent that was previously mobilized

The Route 3 Integrated Project will provide the third flow route for pre-salt natural gas. The project comprises the Natural Gas Processing Unit (UPGN) which will have the capacity to process up to 21 million m³ per day. In addition to the UPGN, the project includes the construction of a gas pipeline with a total length of approximately 355 km, of which 307 km are maritime stretches – already built – and 48 km are land stretches, which are under construction and will flow natural gas from the Pre -Salt from the Santos Basin to the UPGN.
