Contract Signed With Spanish Company Will Include Inspections, Audits, and Technical Support Services for Petrobras’ Support Vessel Fleet

A contract worth R$ 11 million was signed between Petrobras and Ghenova Brasil Projetos, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Spanish multinational Ghenova Ingeniería.
The contract provides for inspection, auditing, and technical support services for 70 support vessels operating for the company in the Brazilian offshore. See what the president of the Brazilian state-owned company thinks about the company’s future contracts.

In addition to supporting Petrobras’ vessel fleet, Ghenova will also have an onshore team available responsible for managing and coordinating logistics for inspections and providing technical support.

The contract will last for 24 months and can be renewed twice, covering services on the Brazilian state-owned support vessels, which include: AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply), DSV (Diving Support Vessel), PLSV (Pipe Laying Support Vessel), RSV (ROV Support Vessel), RV (Research Vessel), SESV (Subsea Equipment Support Vessel), and SDSV (Shallow-Diving Support Vessel).

These support vessels for exploration and production operations need to undergo maintenance and checks on their dynamic positioning systems, propulsion systems, energy generation and control systems, and load handling systems to be available for operation.

Ghenova’s CEO, Francisco Cuervas, stated that the decision to stay in Brazil during the crisis was well-made, and they are now reaping the benefits of betting on the recovery of the Brazilian market.

The Beginning

It is worth noting that Ghenova began its operations in Brazil in 2010 and developed important projects for Petrobras, through Transpetro, with LNG carriers (LPG), and through Sete Brasil, with drilling ships that had their orders canceled at the Enseada shipyard in Maragogipe, Bahia.

Ghenova, in Brazil, also participates in projects in the renewable energy market, where it holds a portfolio of over 3GW of production, operating in the areas of construction management and operation.
