Almost 20% Of Transpetro Employees Are On Loan From Petrobras, Which Is Now Studying An Action Plan For Their Return
Petrobras, through its human resources department, published a document dated July 24, signaling a study for the return of all its employees loaned to Transpetro.
According to a survey from late 2016, Transpetro has approximately 6,435 employees, of which 1,090 belong to Petrobras.
Within Petrobras, it is normal for professionals to be hired by the state company and then “transferred” to a subsidiary, thus these professionals remain employed by the oil company and can return in case of privatization, for example.
This initiative may be a preparatory activity by Petrobras to sell its logistics arm, Transpetro.

According to company sources, a similar process occurred before the sale of BR Distribuidora, when employees left the company and returned to their origins.
The document issued by Petrobras regarding the transfers contained the following paragraph: “After individual evaluation, HR will consolidate the information and, together with executive managers, will draft a return plan for employees in applicable situations”.
For Petrobras, the document is an internal matter and involves “constant assessment of profile and personnel quantity, considering goals, competencies, and knowledge”.
Possible Sale Of Transpetro
The privatization of yet another of its subsidiaries does not have a set date, but it is known that Petrobras is putting into practice its divestment plan and that the sale of subsidiaries will take place.
In April, Petrobras sold TAG, its pipeline company, to the French company Engie for 8.6 billion dollars and intends to sell eight refineries to raise another 15 billion dollars.
The refineries are not part of Transpetro, but Petrobras intends to sell some of its transportation pipelines and terminals.
Transpetro has over 7,500 kilometers of pipelines, according to the company’s website, and has a fleet of more than 50 ships.
