The P-76 of the Brazilian State Giant Petrobras Finally Enters Operation in the Pre-Salt Development in the Santos Basin Alongside Its Sisters P-74 and P-75
Petrobras began the production of a third large floating production, storage, and offloading vessel at the giant Búzios field in the pre-salt province of the Santos Basin. The production of the FPSO P-76 started this Wednesday at depths of 2,030 meters, according to Petrobras. The floater, which has the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day and 7 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, will be connected to 10 oil-producing wells and seven injector wells.
The P-76 hull was converted in China, while the Argentine contractor Techint carried out most of the topside module manufacturing and integration at its shipyard in Pontal do Paraná, with a high local content of 70%.

The P-76 becomes the third FPSO to enter operation in Búzios, following the P-74 in April 2018 and the P-75 in November 2018. A fourth unit, the P-77, is aimed at producing the first oil from Búzios this year.
Petrobras is in the process of chartering a fifth large unit for Búzios, and recently started negotiations with the Japanese Modec, after Belgium’s Exmar faced difficulties securing financing for the floater.
