The idea is that the labor for the construction of the Rota 3 gas pipeline should come from the residents of the city of Maricá. Petrobras has committed to meet this demand.
In a meeting between the Maricá City Hall and Petrobras regarding the works to be carried out in Maricá for the construction of the Rota3 gas pipeline, aimed at transporting natural gas production from the Pre-Salt Polygon of the Santos Basin, the city hall, through the Secretary of Industry and Port, presented to the state representatives the implementation of the Municipal Registration of Local Labor, for use in the industrial and port sectors of the municipality.
According to Igor Sardinha, the municipal secretary of Industry and Port of Maricá, the registration originated from the Letter of Intent signed with DTA Engenharia, which has already committed to using the registration for the works of the Ponta Negra Terminal, the Port of Maricá. The registration will have a direct interface with the companies that produce and provide services to the city, ensuring that the population of Maricá has access to job offers generated by the industries and port works. “The system is about to be launched and will be done digitally and transparently, where all Marica residents will be able to submit their resumes and relevant documents. The mission given by Mayor Fabiano Horta is to ensure that Maricá residents can take advantage of the opportunities arising from the development of our city,” Igor said.
During the meeting, Petrobras was asked to make an effort with the contracted companies to ensure that the mobilization of professionals utilizes the municipal registration. Petrobras positively acknowledged the municipality’s initiative and committed to convey the demand to its contractors within the municipality.

Petrobras stated in the meeting that the objective of the Rota3 gas pipeline is to transport 18 million cubic meters of gas from the Pre-Salt Polygon of the Santos Basin to Comperj, where it can be processed and made available to the consumer market. According to state representatives, two works are pending, corresponding to two sections of the pipeline: one ultra-shallow, which includes the implementation of a directional drilling at the marine-terrestrial interface, at Jaconé beach, and a land section of 48km, starting at Jaconé beach, which will traverse the municipality to Comperj in Itaboraí.
