Petrobras Launches Free Course With Scholarship of Up to R$ 858 for Those Who Want to Enter the Oil Sector! The Program Aims for Inclusion and Employability. Want to Know How to Participate? Check the Details and Secure Your Chance for Professional Qualification!

The oil and gas sector is one of the most powerful gears of the Brazilian economy, generating thousands of jobs and opportunities in various regions of the country.

However, entering this market requires professional qualification.

Now, a new initiative from Petrobras promises to change this scenario by offering a free course with a scholarship to train people in vulnerable situations.

Petrobras announced a professional qualification program that offers scholarships of up to R$ 858 for registrants in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico), prioritizing vulnerable groups.

This action is part of the Autonomy and Income Program, an initiative of the state-owned company that seeks to promote social inclusion and meet the growing demand for qualified labor in the sector.

Social Inclusion and Diversity at Petrobras

Petrobras’ project is based on the Acredita Primeiro Passo Program, from the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family, and Fight Against Hunger.

The protocol was signed by the president of Petrobras, Magda Chambriard, and Minister Wellington Dias.

The main criterion for selecting participants is to be registered in the CadÚnico, which has about 40 million registrants.

Priority groups include Black and Brown individuals, women, people with disabilities (PWD), transgender individuals, indigenous people, quilombolas, refugees, and unemployed persons.

This initiative seeks to reduce social inequality and open new doors for professionals who have historically had fewer opportunities in the job market.

The oil and gas sector, long dominated by a homogeneous profile of workers, is now undergoing a transformation, promoting a more diverse and inclusive environment.

Scholarship and Social Impact

The selected students will receive a scholarship of R$ 650, which increases to R$ 858 for women with children up to 11 years old.

According to Petrobras, the increase aims to cover childcare expenses, allowing for greater dedication to the course.

The program has already shown significant results. In 2024, more than 1,100 people were trained, with the first classes graduating in March 2025.

Among the participants, 75% were Black or Brown, 60% were women, and 45% were single mothers.

The expectation is that the number of beneficiaries will grow in the coming years, having a direct impact on the lives of thousands of Brazilians seeking an opportunity to enter the job market with better salary conditions.

Need for Qualified Labor

Petrobras has identified a shortage of qualified professionals to work in different segments of the oil and gas chain, such as exploration, production, and refining.

To meet this demand, the company plans to offer 20,000 vacancies between 2025 and 2026.

In addition to addressing the growing market need, the program also aims to change the profile of the oil sector, historically dominated by men.

By encouraging the participation of women and other marginalized groups, Petrobras promotes a more diverse and inclusive environment.

The company invests in technical qualification and social development as pillars for a more sustainable future in the sector.

With the advancement of new technologies and the energy transition on the agenda, there is also a growing demand for professionals prepared to face the sector’s challenges in the coming years.

About Petrobras’ Autonomy and Income Program

Created by Petrobras, the Autonomy and Income Program aims to promote professional qualification and income generation for people in situations of social vulnerability.

Since its creation, the initiative has already trained thousands of Brazilians, facilitating their insertion into the job market and boosting the socioeconomic development of communities.

Petrobras emphasizes that investing in education and professional qualification is an essential strategy to boost the economy and generate more job opportunities.

By offering free courses and financial support, the state not only fills gaps in the sector but also transforms lives and contributes to a more equal Brazil.

How to Register

Interested parties can register through the official Petrobras website. The selection will prioritize candidates registered in the CadÚnico and belonging to the listed vulnerable groups.

Petrobras advises candidates to pay attention to deadlines and stages of the selection process, which will include document analysis and interviews to verify the profile and suitability for the program.
