The opportunity includes financial and technical support, as well as access to real tests in the industry. Applications are open from 09/24 to 10/23/2024. Will the startups be able to revolutionize the market?

With a bold bet on innovation, Petrobras, in partnership with Sebrae, is about to transform Brazil’s energy future.

The state giant recently announced the launch of a new notice that promises to allocate up to R$ 16 million for startups capable of addressing the technological and operational gaps in the oil, gas, and energy industry. But what is the true scale of this initiative and how can it impact the market?

According to information released by Petrobras itself, the notice is part of the Petrobras Connections For Innovation program and aims to promote projects in the areas of energy transition and asset integrity. And

this is one of the company’s largest investments in promoting innovative solutions that can ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the sector, in addition to strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Brazil.

Opportunities For Startups: Who Can Participate?

The selected startups will have the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with Petrobras, receiving financial and technical support. The notice is divided into two main categories:

  1. Soft Tech Projects: focused on software development, which can receive up to R$ 1 million.
  2. Deep Tech Projects: focused on solutions involving hardware and materials, with funding of up to R$ 2 million.

In addition to financial investment, startups will have access to a real testing environment in the industry, which can be a game changer for those seeking scalability and market insertion.

Impact On The Innovation Ecosystem

This initiative, in conjunction with Sebrae, promises not only to develop new technologies but also to strengthen innovative small and medium-sized enterprises by providing management support and promoting actions that increase competitiveness and access to markets.

The collaboration aims to create a co-creation environment where startups will have the chance to validate their solutions under real conditions, promoting a virtuous cycle of innovation.

Deadline For Applications

For those interested in participating in this opportunity, applications will be open from September 24 to October 23, 2024.

Interested parties can access the official Petrobras website for more information about the application process and the eligibility criteria.

What To Expect From This Partnership?

The program has already shown impressive results since its inception in 2019.

So far, partnerships have been established with 53 startups from 10 Brazilian states, resulting in 63 innovative projects, with a 30% continuity rate in new contracts and investments.

With the new notice, the expectation is that more startups can benefit from this initiative, bringing new solutions to a sector that faces increasingly complex challenges.

And Now, What Do You Think?

Petrobras and Sebrae are betting big on the potential of startups to transform the Brazilian energy sector.

But will these emerging companies really be able to make a difference? Do you believe that the financial and technical support will be enough to overcome the technological and environmental challenges of today?
