Long-term agreement reinforces Petrobras' role in supplying gas to state markets

Petrobras announced a new agreement with Companhia de Gás de São Paulo (Comgás) worth an estimated R$56 billion. The gas supply agreement will be effective from January 2024 to December 2034. This is yet another strategic partnership by Petrobras, which in recent weeks had already closed contracts with other natural gas distributors, such as Copergás and SCGás, totaling significant investments in the sector.

Petrobras will invest more than BRL 25 billion in gas supply in the coming years

Jean Paul Prates, president of Petrobras, highlighted the company's commitment to supply the natural gas market in the Brazilian states. Petrobras predicts invest more than BRL 25 billion own projects in this area in the coming years. In addition, the company is offering more flexible agreements, with different types of terms and indexes, allowing distributors to choose the portfolio that best suits their needs in serving different market segments.

The agreement between Petrobras and Comgás underwent analysis and approval by the Regulatory Agency for Public Services of the State of São Paulo (Arsesp) and will be submitted to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), following the regulatory rite for the disclosure of agreements for the purchase and sale of natural gas by local distributors. This strategic partnership reaffirms the commitment of the companies to guarantee the safe gas supply, competitive and sustainable, driving the economic growth of São Paulo and Brazil.
