According to the website Portos e Navios, the vessel Skandi Niterói will operate mainly in shallow waters, while the Skandi Vitória will operate in shallow and deep waters. Both ships will carry out decommissioning and subsea installation work.

Jonathan Landes, President Submarino at TechnipFMC, commented: “Our vessels serve as an important component of the strong flexible pipeline ecosystem we have in Brazil. We are proud to extend our multi-decade relationship with Petrobras through these long-term contracts, which are built on close collaboration and our customers' trust in our ability to deliver quality safely and efficiently."

Previously, the state-owned company had already closed new contracts for submarine vessels

Petrobras and Seabras Sapura signed a contract on the 23rd for the charter of the PLSV Sapura Diamante, for a period of 1.275 days. The contract for contracting the vessel, according to the Petróleo Hoje website, is valued at US$ 199 million, should start on the 15th, ending on March 13, 2025, according to a statement from Seadrill.

Sapura's Sapura Topazio, Submarino 7's Seven Waves, Seven Sun and Seven Rio are also expected to be contracted, as well as TechnipFMC's Top Coral do Atlântico and four other vessels yet to be defined. Contracts are valid for three years, renewable for another year. Most of Petrobras' deals involved contract extensions, except for Skandi Vitória, Skandi Niterói, Sapura Diamante and Sapura Topázio, which were not previously contracted.

Petrobras has launched a tender to contract engineering, preparation, removal and disposal (EPRD) services, which will be used to decommission the remaining underwater structures of the FPSOs Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, Cidade de Rio das Ostras and Piranema, already demobilized from projects in the basins Campos and Sergipe-Alagoas, respectively.

According to the Petronotícias website, on October 13, Petrobras will open the envelopes with the bidders' proposals. The bidding, with nationwide scope, will take place in open competition mode and the beginning of the price competition will be on October 14th. In addition to the engineering, preparation, removal and disposal services, Petrobras' tender will also contract the disposal activities, as scrap, of materials from the ports of the submarine systems belonging to the three FPSOs. The criterion for judging the bid will be the best combination, with the lowest price for Petrobras, taking into account the difference between the proposal value of the EPRD service provision contract and the proposal value of the alienation contract.

According to the website Petronotícias, Petrobras' FPSO Rio de Janeiro system, which produced in the Espadarte field, in the Campos Basin, the work of the future contractor will involve the decommissioning of 10 wells and 132 km of flexible lines. With regard to subsea equipment for the FPSO Piranema, which produced in the field of the same name, in Sergipe-Alagoas, the activities will cover nine wells and the collection of 120 km of flexible pipelines and risers. Finally, at the FPSO Rio das Ostras, previously installed in the Tartaruga Verde, Tartaruga Mestiça and Espadarte fields, the work will involve two wells and 21,1 km of flexible lines.
