According to Petrobras, the Long Duration Test aims to evaluate the behavior of the reservoir in production and the characteristics of its oil
Continuing with the statement announced on May 11, 2020, Petrobras reported that it started on Saturday (16/5) the Long Duration Test (TLD) in the Furnace Discovery Assessment Plan area, in the Albacora oil field, located in the Campos Basin pre-salt layer. According to Petrobras, the test is being carried out at well 3-AB-125-RJS (3-BRSA-1123-RJS), located approximately 120 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
This will be the first Long Duration Test carried out in the pre-salt of the Albacora field
The state-owned company informs that the Long Duration TestThe EWT aims to evaluate the behavior of the reservoir in production and the characteristics of its oil.
The technical information collected during the testing phase will support the complementary development of the field, which is part of the Albacora revitalization project, of which Forno is part.
“Having a reserve in this pre-salt area, below the post-salt reservoir, is important because it opens up perspectives for the field and its revitalization,” said Petrobras Exploration & Production director Carlos Alberto in a statement. Pereira de Oliveira.
Petrobras: Assessment Plan Oil Discoveries in the Forno Area
According to Petrobras, the Albacora field, in the Campos Basin, 184 km from the city of Macaé, began production in post-salt reservoirs in 1987, with the FPSO PP Morais.
Based on evidence of oil in the pre-salt layer of the concession, Petrobras started the PAD in the area called Forno, where drilling and seismic activities have already been carried out.
The TLD is a new phase of the PAD, which provides for the interconnection of the well to the FPSO P-31, anchored in a water depth of approximately 325 meters. This phase intends to prove the productive potential of the reservoir, when the production will have a test character.
Petrobras is the operator (100%) of the Albacora field and will continue the PAD in the area.
