Petrobras Employees Started a 24-Hour Strike Early This Friday at Refineries and Terminals in 12 States
Petroleum workers say the strike affects 14 Petrobras refineries. In addition to changes in Social Security and cuts in Education, the workers are protesting against what they classify as the dismantling of Petrobras, referring to the company’s Divestment Plan that was authorized by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), stated the Unique Federation of Petroleum Workers (FUP) in a statement.
The Unique Federation of Petroleum Workers (FUP) updated the numbers of the general strike called for this Friday across the country on the morning of the 14th. According to the federation, the number of state-owned units affected by the movement increased from nine to 14, located in 12 states, with 10 refineries.

According to the entity, the oil workers did not report for the zero-hour shift at the Suape Maritime Terminal in Pernambuco, at the Aureliano Chaves Thermoelectric Plant in Minas Gerais, at SIX (shale processing unit in Paraná), and at the Nitrogen Fertilizers Factory in Bahia.
In the Campos Basin, the category has been conducting Standard Operations on the platforms since early morning, executing all procedures with the utmost rigor and care.
In the morning, the strike gained support from workers at Transpetro and other units of the Petrobras System. The category will also participate in the unified actions this Friday, called by the labor unions, in the main cities and capitals of the country.
Contacted, Petrobras has not yet commented on the strike this Friday. Yesterday, it stated that it would maintain normal supply.
In Rio, there is an expectation of a concentration of workers at 3 PM at Candelária, in the city center, which is expected to include the participation of employees from Eletrobras, who are also in salary negotiations.
According to the president of the Eletrobras Employees Association (AEEL), Emanuel Mendes, there was an 80% turnout in the company’s administrative building in downtown Rio, but the state-owned company has not yet commented on the matter. “Only the management entered,” Mendes told Broadcast.
At the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), there was no participation in the stoppage, according to the press office.
