Pre-Salt: Oil And Natural Gas Production Reaches Historic High In Brazil

Oil And Natural Gas Production In Brazil Hits Historic Records In September, With Pre-Salt As The Major Protagonist. The National Agency Of Oil, Natural Gas And Biofuels (ANP) Released The Report That Reveals Impressive Numbers: Pre-Salt Accounted For Nothing Less Than 81.2% Of Total National Production. This Level Not Only Establishes A New Record, But Also Reinforces The Central Role Of Pre-Salt In The Country’s Energy Production.

According To The September Bulletin From ANP, Oil And Natural Gas Production In Pre-Salt Reached An Impressive 3.681 Million Barrels Of Oil Equivalent Per Day (boe/d), The Highest Volume Ever Recorded. This Robust Performance Represented A Growth Of 6.3% Compared To The Previous Month And 2.4% Compared To September 2023. With 153 Wells In Operation, Daily Extraction Totaled 2.864 Million Barrels Of Oil And 129.90 Million Cubic Meters Of Natural Gas.

When Observing National Production As A Whole, Summing All Exploration Areas, Oil And Natural Gas Production Reached 4.539 Million Boe/d, Demonstrating The Weight That Pre-Salt Holds In The Total. The 81.2% Share In Pre-Salt Is A Mark That Exploration In Deep And Ultra-Deep Waters Has Consolidated Itself As One Of The Pillars Of The Country’s Energy Production.

Pre-Salt: Natural Gas Also Hits Record In September

The Natural Gas Sector Also Celebrated Impressive Results, With An Average Production Of 169.92 Million Cubic Meters Per Day (m³/d). This Represents A Jump Of 6.4% Compared To August 2024 And 7.6% In Comparison To September 2023.

Of This Total, 56.87 Million Cubic Meters Per Day Were Made Available To The Market, While Gas Flaring Reached 3.63 Million M³/Day. With An Utilization Rate Of 97.9%, Gas Utilization Is On The Rise, Even With A Slight Increase Of 0.6% In Flaring Compared To The Previous Month And 8.3% Compared To The Same Period Last Year.

National Oil Also Shows Increase Compared To August

In Terms Of Oil Production, The Numbers Are Also Impressive. Daily National Oil Production In September Reached 3.470 Million Barrels (bbl/d), Which Means A Growth Of 3.9% Compared To The Previous Month. However, There Was A Slight Decline Of 5.5% Compared To September Of The Previous Year, 2023, Which Does Not Diminish The Highlight Of The Sector As A Whole.

These Results Indicate A Trajectory Of Expansion And Maturity Of Oil And Natural Gas Production In Pre-Salt, Highlighting The Ongoing Importance Of This Area For Energy Security And The National Economy. With The New Records, Pre-Salt Reaffirms Its Strategic And Vital Role For Brazil’s Energy Future.
