Indaial SC Inaugurates the First Firefighter School in Brazil with Full-Time Education and Support from the Fire Department.
The city of Indaial SC inaugurates this Saturday (21) the first Firefighter School in Brazil, a pioneering educational project that combines regular teaching and citizen training inspired by the values of the Fire Department.
The new unit, which will operate with a Full-Time Education model, will serve around 600 students and focus on discipline, civic engagement, and prevention.
The proposal will be implemented at the Helga Ittner Civic Firefighter Municipal School, located in the old Uniasselvi building in the Benedito neighborhood.

Firefighter School Marks a New Educational Model in Indaial SC
The Firefighter School in Indaial SC is born as a national reference by integrating the municipal curriculum with the operational and ethical principles of the Fire Department.
The project proposes a formation that goes beyond traditional content, prioritizing values such as organization, respect, and teamwork.
Moreover, the presence of the so-called Firefighter Disciplinary Body within the school unit strengthens the monitoring of daily activities.
These professionals will work alongside teachers, conducting civic schools, orderly routines, and educational actions focused on accident prevention.
Full-Time Education and Citizen Training as Pillars
The Full-Time Education format will allow students to spend more time at school, participating in pedagogical and practical activities.
Among these are notions of first aid, home safety, and preventive behaviors.
Meanwhile, the pedagogical proposal also encompasses the emotional and social development of students.
The goal is to form more aware citizens, prepared for everyday situations and committed to the community.
According to the Secretary of Education, Manoel Boaventura, the project has an impact that goes beyond the school’s walls.
“The objective of implementing the civic firefighter school is to provide an education that transforms lives and positively impacts the entire school community of Indaial.”
Integration with the Fire Department Strengthens Discipline
The partnership with the Fire Department brings a practical approach to topics that normally only appear in theory.
Students will have contact with basic prevention instructions, evacuation drills, and guidance on how to act in emergencies.
On the other hand, the initiative does not have a military character.

Even before the official inauguration, the Firefighter School has already shown strong community adherence. Parents waited up to 50 hours in line to secure their children’s enrollment.
This movement highlights families’ trust in the new teaching model.
It also reinforces the expectation that the experience in Indaial SC can inspire other Brazilian cities.
Structure and Location of the New Unit
The school will operate in the old Uniasselvi building, located at kilometer 69.858 of BR-470, in the Benedito neighborhood.
Thus the space has been adapted to meet the needs of the pedagogical proposal, with areas designated for practical activities and civic events.
In addition to classrooms, the structure will feature spaces for educational training and community integration actions.
This expands the use of the school as a space for learning and interaction.
Official Inauguration Schedule
The opening ceremony begins at 2 PM on Saturday (21) with tours of the building.
Next, there will be a parents’ assembly at 3 PM and a presentation of fights at 4 PM.
The solemn act of inauguration is scheduled for 4:30 PM and will be open to the public.
The expectation is to gather authorities, educators, families, and representatives from the Fire Department.

The mayor of Indaial emphasized the innovative character of the initiative.
“We are taking an important step by investing in a model that values not only education but also the formation of aware, responsible citizens prepared for the future.
