The Norwegian Oil Giant Equinor Has Started Oil Production From Its Oseberg Vestflanken 2 Field In The North Sea
The oil field was developed using the new Oseberg H platform, the first unmanned Norwegian continental platform. The platform is remotely controlled from the Oseberg field center. The recoverable resources in the field are 110 million barrels, and the project was delivered well below budget, according to Equinor.
“With the Oseberg H, we are making a huge technological leap. The fully automated, unmanned platform operated by remote control is digitalization in practice, and I am proud that Equinor and its partners chose this internally developed solution,” says Anders Opedal, Executive Vice President of Technology, Projects and Drilling at Equinor.

Billions of barrels on the equatorial margin could lead Amapá to double its oil production in Brazil — the state aims to enter the route of companies in the Campos Basin, attract investments, and boost jobs and businesses in the oil and gas sector.
The project was delivered at NOK 6.5 billion (2018 NOK), more than 20% lower than the cost estimate of the development and operation plan (PDO). The breakeven price was reduced from US $ 34 to under US $ 20 per barrel, further strengthening a development that is already highly profitable, Equinor said on Monday.
Partners in the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 production license: Equinor Energy AS (49.3%), Petoro AS (33.6%), Total E & P Norge AS (14.7%) and ConocoPhillips Scandinavia AS (2.4%)
