In An Interview With Globo News On August 3, The Presidential Candidate Says This Measure Will Stimulate The Free Market
The privatization of Petrobras or not is a very recurring topic, especially in recent months, due to the escalating fuel prices. The presidential candidate Jair Messias Bolsonaro has a very clear stance in favor of the privatization of the Brazilian state oil company and confirmed this in an interview with Globo News yesterday (03) when questioned about it. Here is a video excerpt from the interview, and understand his opinion more thoroughly:

-
Haiti’s capital is experiencing an energy and construction crisis, facing blackouts, a blocked port, and buildings at risk after years of instability and a significant earthquake.
-
Government unlocks R$ 554 million for a highway that has been requested for decades and accelerates the duplication of BR.
-
Without bricks, without cement, and without endless construction: the cardboard house that is assembled in modules and can be moved.
-
Billions of barrels on the equatorial margin could lead Amapá to double its oil production in Brazil — the state aims to enter the route of companies in the Campos Basin, attract investments, and boost jobs and businesses in the oil and gas sector.
According to Bolsonaro’s understanding and that of other experts in favor of privatization, using Petrobras to reduce gasoline prices is inefficient because even subsidizing the gasoline price, the government cannot make gasoline prices as low as in other producing countries such as the USA, India, China, and Russia. Another factor that is taken into account is the profitability issue, which is around 9.17%, meaning it has to produce a lot to profit little.
