“Ocyan is at an important moment of looking inward, so this year the program’s focus will be on seeking solutions that help improve our members’ experience in internal processes through connections with mature startups.”, said Patricia Grabowsky, Executive Manager of Innovation and Digital Transformation at Ocyan.

The Ocyan Waves Challenge schedule is organized into eight phases to be conducted throughout the year, including Scouting (active search for startups), Pitch Week (presentation of companies and their solutions). Those that stand out will be invited to execute pilot projects lasting three months in partnership with Ocyan to validate their solutions. Subsequently, there will be an evaluation of the results and deliberation on the continuity of the projects with the greatest potential, and finally, a pilot-to-rollout transition.
“It is important to highlight that we are always seeking improvement in the conduct of our programs to maintain Ocyan’s reputation as an open organization committed to connecting with startups. Our main focus remains on creating value for all involved, which is reflected in our rollout conversion rate, which today exceeds 80%” highlights Livia Savignon, Innovation Coordinator at Ocyan.
Ocyan Waves Booster Demoday
Providing solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry is in Ocyan’s DNA. On March 26, the company presented the Demoday of the Ocyan Waves Booster, which aims to accelerate startups so they can develop as our potential partners in offering innovative solutions for the oil and gas sector.
During the Demoday, the four startups selected for the 2023 cycle – Confirm8, IBBX, Aquapower and Endserv – presented their results and challenges from the program alongside their respective mentor sponsors, and received confirmation that all four will move on to the structuring of a rollout in partnership with Ocyan.
“The Ocyan Waves Booster proves that innovation is one of Ocyan’s main assets. It shows that we are capable of materializing ideas that were initiated in pilot projects. We fulfill the purpose of the program, which is to bet that startups, by understanding the oil and gas industry, can develop solutions for our sector,” concludes Patricia.
