USP Launches 80 Free Courses for Teachers on Topics Ranging from Video Games to Antiracist Education. Enrollment Until 12/5.

When it comes to professional training, The University of São Paulo (USP) stands out as an undeniable reference.

This time, the institution proposes a true educational revolution, offering opportunities that could redefine the future of many education professionals.

But there is one detail that makes this chance even more special, something you will discover throughout this text.

At the heart of this initiative is the Encontro USP Escola project, which will reach its 25th edition in 2025.

The program offers 80 free courses specially designed for teachers in basic education in public and private networks.

According to information from USP, enrollment is open until December 5 and can be done through the Apolo System.

This initiative is aimed at ongoing training and the exchange of experiences among educators.

How the Project Transforms Education

Since its inception, the Encontro USP Escola has benefited more than 12,000 teachers.

Its main objective is to promote direct dialogue between university educators and basic education teachers.

This exchange of experiences enriches pedagogical practices, helping to solve everyday challenges in the classroom.

The project is organized into two course formats: dissemination and updating, each lasting 30 hours and validated by the São Paulo State Department of Education.

These formats ensure flexibility, allowing educators to train without disrupting their work routines.

Another highlight of the project is the areas covered, which include education, humanities, languages, mathematics, and nature.

According to USP, the selection of courses prioritizes teachers who are actively working, increasing the direct impact on the quality of basic education.

Examples of Innovative Courses

The available courses are an attraction in themselves.

Among the highlights are options that reflect current demands in teaching, such as “How to Be an Antiracist Educator” and “Teaching Indigenous Histories and Cultures.”

These trainings align teaching practice with contemporary discussions, promoting a more inclusive and dynamic education.

Other courses address topics such as:

  • “Quantum Physics in Experiments and Concepts,” which presents the complexity of physics in an accessible way;
  • “Playful Practices and Approaches for Teaching Mathematics,” aimed at making classes more engaging;
  • “Traditional African Games,” which introduces enriching cultural and historical perspectives for students.

These courses allow educators to adapt and enrich their pedagogical practices, creating a bridge between academic knowledge and practical application.

Why This Edition Is Special?

The upcoming year marks not only the 25th edition of the Encontro USP Escola but also the strengthening of an innovative proposal.

Free teacher training becomes even more relevant in a scenario of constant challenges in Brazilian education.

As USP points out, the program directly contributes to the appreciation of teachers and the advancement of basic education in the country.

Additionally, courses such as “Video Games and Teaching History” highlight the attempt to bring school content closer to the digital realities experienced by students.

This connection between technology and education could represent a turning point in learning.

How to Enroll

Enrollment for the courses is already open and continues until December 5. To participate, you need to access the Apolo System, USP’s official platform, and fill out the requested information.

The selection prioritizes teachers in service and those interested in transforming their pedagogical practices.
