The notice does not specify, at this time, the date and location of the tests, but the university has committed to disclosing this information in advance.

The application submission must be made by 11:59 PM on January 22, 2025, exclusively through the official email of the competition: concurso-prof-adjunto@fafich.ufmg.br.
In-person applications or those submitted by means other than electronic will not be accepted, thus facilitating the process for candidates from various locations.
The evaluation of credentials will be an important stage to assess the academic and professional qualifications of candidates.
Candidates with experience in the area of Socio-Environmental Studies will have a competitive advantage in the selection process.
Additionally, the seminar presented will be an opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their pedagogical and research skills, essential characteristics for the adjunct professor position at UFMG.
Requirements and Salary Offered in the UFMG Competition
Those interested in participating in the public competition for adjunct professor at UFMG must meet specific requirements.
The main requirement is the academic background. Candidates must possess a doctorate diploma in Anthropology or in a related field, such as Social Sciences, Sociology, Human Sciences, or Human Geography.
This qualification must be recognized by a higher education institution, either national or foreign, and the candidate must provide evidence of this qualification at the time of application.
In addition to academic background, it will be important for candidates to demonstrate familiarity with the area of Socio-Environmental Studies.
This line of research is directly linked to the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology of UFMG, which develops projects and studies on the interactions between human societies and the environment.
Candidates with experience in interdisciplinary research will also be positively evaluated in the public competition.
The open position at UFMG is an excellent opportunity for professionals in the field of Social Sciences seeking a solid career in higher education.
The offered salary of R$ 10,481.64 is in line with the average for the academic career in federal universities, and the additional meal allowance of R$ 1,000.00 complements the benefits for the employee.
Validity and Conditions of the Competition
The public competition at UFMG will be valid for one year, from the date of publication of the result in the Official Federal Gazette.
However, the validity may be extended for an equal period if the university deems necessary.
This means that, although the competition has a single vacancy available, there is the possibility that, during this period, new opportunities may arise for other candidates classified in the selection process.
It is important to note that approval in the competition does not automatically guarantee appointment to the adjunct professor position.
The approved candidate will have an expectation of right to the position, meaning that the appointment will be subject to the fulfillment of legal requirements, the submission of all required documentation, and strict adherence to the order of classification in the public competition.
In this way, UFMG reiterates that the purpose of the competition is to select the most qualified candidate to meet the needs of the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology.
