Learning a New Language for Free and from Home is Now Possible! IFBA is Offering 315 Spots in Free Courses for English, Spanish, and Brazilian Sign Language.

Who could have imagined that mastering another language without leaving home and without spending a dime would be possible? The Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA) has made this a reality by opening spots for free courses in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Sign Language.

This initiative not only benefits those looking to improve their resumes but also represents an incredible opportunity for anyone wishing to expand their cultural and professional horizons. And the best part: enrollment is already open!

Whether to enhance your job prospects or to broaden your international network, learning a new language goes beyond just knowing words. It fosters connections, experiences, and life lessons that can transform your journey.

Courses Offered by IFBA: Variety for All Levels

The Federal Institute, through announcement No. 02/2024, is offering spots for Initial and Continuing Education Courses (FIC) at the Lauro de Freitas campus. These courses are aimed at different levels of knowledge, enabling students to progress in the chosen language.

Among the available courses, the highlights are:

  • English for Beginners: Designed for those with little or no knowledge of the language. With 75 spots available, this course will offer 45 hours of instruction and focus on everyday expressions and simple communication, easing the first contact with the English language.
  • English Conversation for Beginners: A course focused on oral practice, where students will develop their conversation skills. There are 45 spots available and the same 45 hours of instruction.
  • Basic English A1 and A2: For those who already have some knowledge of the language and wish to enhance their skills, 5 spots are available with 45 hours of learning.
  • Pre-Intermediate English B1: For those seeking greater fluency, this course will offer 15 spots and aims to develop more advanced communication, allowing students to express themselves more confidently.
  • Basic Spanish A1: Ideal for anyone wanting to learn Spanish in a practical and straightforward manner. The course offers 25 spots and focuses not only on grammar but also on cultural understanding of the language.
  • Spanish for Tourism 1: Those working in the tourism sector or wanting to specialize in it can learn the basics of Spanish. The course offers 25 spots and lasts 45 hours, being aimed at customer service in commercial and tourism contexts.
  • Basic Brazilian Sign Language 1: The Brazilian Sign Language course, with 25 spots, aims to provide immersion in Brazilian Sign Language, promoting inclusion and communication with the deaf community. There are 45 hours of learning with interactive practices.

Enrollment and Selection Process: What You Need to Know

Enrollment for the courses will be open from September 16 to 25, 2024, and interested parties must follow the process through the link available in the official IFBA announcement. Candidate selection will be based on specific criteria, such as socioeconomic status, performance in the placement test (when necessary), and order of enrollment.

For courses that require prior knowledge, such as Basic English 2 and Pre-Intermediate, candidates will have to take a placement test to determine their suitability for the course. Additionally, in cases of ties, other factors will be considered, such as age and whether the student is not enrolled in another language course at IFBA.

Limited Spots and Market Differentiation

The 315 spots available across all courses at the Federal Institute are limited, so it’s important to pay attention to enrollment deadlines and selection criteria.

Free courses and quality offerings like these are a unique opportunity for those wanting to stand out in the job market, especially in areas where proficiency in a second language is essential.

Moreover, learning a new language is also a form of personal growth, as it facilitates understanding of other cultures and perspectives.

According to IFBA, this is an opportunity for students not only to expand their vocabulary but also to prepare for the professional demands of the modern world.

A Transformative Experience

As reported by many who have participated in similar programs, the language courses offered by IFBA have the potential to change lives.

The chance to learn with qualified teachers in an environment that fosters cultural interaction is valuable both for your resume and for personal growth.

This opportunity is even more relevant when considering the growth of the globalized market. Mastering a second language could be the differentiator you need to land that desired job or expand your international connections.

And you, are you ready to take that step and transform your life through learning a new language? Don’t waste time and enroll now!
