The Federal Institute of Southern Minas (IFSULDEMINAS) has launched Edital 114/2025, which regulates the selection process for free higher education courses starting in the second semester of 2025. There are over 700 vacancies in free undergraduate courses distributed across the campuses in Inconfidentes, Passos, Três Corações, and Muzambinho, including hubs of the Open University of Brazil (UAB).

Classes will be offered in in-person, EAD, and hybrid (50% in-person at the hubs and 50% EAD) formats, with a total workload varying from 3 to 4 years, depending on the course. Activities include theoretical classes, virtual forums, written assessments, and in-person seminars, according to each educational project.

In total, the edital offers over 700 spots, divided among general competition, affirmative actions, and reserved spots for people with disabilities. The courses are distributed among the following campuses and hubs:
- Campus Inconfidentes: hubs in Ilicínea, Paraisópolis, Passos, Santa Rita de Caldas, and Varginha.
- Campus Muzambinho: in-person.
- Campus Três Corações: hubs in Campos Gerais, Monte Sião, Cambuí, Paraisópolis, Santa Rita de Caldas, and São Sebastião do Paraíso.
- Campus Passos: hubs in Alterosa, Ilicínea, Passos, Boa Esperança, and Campos Gerais.
Secure A Spot With The ENEM Score
The selection process will be classificatory and eliminatory, with two admission methods: through an in-person exam (with an essay and 50 multiple-choice questions) or by the ENEM score (from 2016 to 2024). There are reserved spots for affirmative actions, as per Law 12.711/2012, including candidates who studied entirely in public schools, people with disabilities, self-declared black, brown, and indigenous individuals, as well as quilombolas. The choice of the modality and the quota must be made at the time of registration.
Registration Requirements
To participate, it is necessary to have completed High School by the date of registration. It is also essential to have your own CPF and RG, registration on the gov.br platform, and access to a computer with an updated browser (preferably Firefox or Chrome).
Candidates who do not have internet access can register using the computers available at the campuses, by prior appointment. An application fee of R$ 40 is charged, with the possibility of exemption for low-income candidates.
