More than 2,000 jobs were created during the construction of the 16th corn ethanol plant in Brazil. Inpasa Brasil has commenced operations at its newest plant, located in Nova Mutum, MT. The plant began operating following the Operating License from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), published yesterday (08/26) in the Federal Official Gazette, which authorizes ethanol production.

The newest corn ethanol plant in Brazil has the capacity to produce 890 m³ per day of hydrated ethanol. There are 275 direct jobs created and at least three times more indirectly.
According to company information, the Nova Mutum plant received an investment of R$ 550 million and generated around 2,000 jobs during construction. It is the second unit of the company in Mato Grosso: the other facility is located in Sinop, producing 560 million liters of corn ethanol per year.
According to Inpasa’s report, in addition to hydrated ethanol from corn, the plant will also produce corn oil and DDG – a protein meal produced from grain distillation.
