According to the statement made by Petrobras on this date (07/16), the Revap refinery sold 75,730 tons in June, equivalent to 5.83 million P13 cylinders, compared to the previous record of 71,115 tons achieved in May, representing an increase of 6.5%.

These figures consolidate Revap as an important supply point for cooking gas in the country, directly serving the regions of the Paraíba Valley, north and south coast of Minas, in addition to other markets through transfers made by distributors via road transport to supply secondary bases.

According to Petrobras, Revap’s sales in June positioned the refinery as the second largest delivery hub. Compared to the same period in 2019, Petrobras’ sales were 5.9% higher, and Revap’s were 23.3% higher.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a significant drop in demand for the main petroleum derivatives. On the other hand, domestic demand for LPG skyrocketed and exceeded the initial demands of distributors and market forecasts,” Petrobras informed in its statement.

The product sold at Petrobras’ Revap refinery in São Paulo is mostly composed of production from the Catalytic Cracking Unit. Another portion of the derivative is received via pipeline from the Caraguatatuba Gas Treatment Unit (UTGCA).

Revap has a capacity to process 40 million liters of oil daily, equivalent to 14% of national production, and produces more than 20 different types of derivatives.

Petrobras Will Donate 10,000 Cooking Gas Cylinders to Populations Affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic

10,000 loads of GLP (cooking gas) cylinders of 13kg will be donated throughout Brazil by Petrobras in partnership with its subsidiary Liquigás. The donation will serve vulnerable communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Petrobras will be responsible for donating the cooking gas – LPG, while the logistics of distribution will be handled by Liquigás, in partnership with its network of resellers. “We are coordinating the deliveries with resellers and will rely on support from community leaders. This will ensure that donations reach those who need them most in an organized manner,” explains Geraldo Magela de Abreu, Director of Bottled LPG at Liquigás.
