The state accounts for about 32% of the country’s total wind energy production, according to data from Aneel. In addition to wind energy, RN has expanded its solar generation capacity, with photovoltaic plants and the popularization of solar panels in residences. Social worker Karla Montenegro, a resident of Grande Natal, reported that the installation of solar panels in her home generated an annual savings of nearly R$ 10 thousand.
