Many Workers May Have Forgotten Money in the Old PIS/Pasep Fund Without Knowing. To Facilitate Access to These Amounts, the Government Launched a Platform That Allows Consultation and Retrieval of Resources Accumulated Over the Years
The Ministry of Finance presented a new digital tool for querying and retrieving remaining amounts from the PIS/PASEP Fund quotas, which was abolished in 2020.
The system, called REPIS Cidadão, was created to facilitate workers and their heirs’ access to these resources.
How REPIS Cidadão Works
The platform can be accessed through the website http://repiscidadao.fazenda.gov.br/ and also through the FGTS app.

Mercado Livre has just started selling medications with delivery in up to three hours to your door, and this move could completely change the way Brazilians buy medicines on a daily basis.

In Dubai, rising tensions from the war in the Middle East are causing super-rich individuals to leave the Gulf and direct their fortunes to a new financial refuge in Asia.

“No one will make us change the Pix,” says Lula after the US report.

Lula responds directly to Trump and says that Pix is from Brazil and will not change under pressure from anyone, after a report from the United States pointed out the Brazilian payment system as an American trade barrier.
The goal is to provide a simple and direct option for citizens to check the existence of amounts to be received.
To ensure security and privacy, access requires authentication at the silver or gold levels of the Gov.br platform, in accordance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
PIS/Pasep – Who Can Receive the Amounts
The available amounts are related to the quotas of the former PIS/PASEP Fund and belong to workers who had a signed work card or were public servants between 1971 and 1988. If the titleholder has passed away, their heirs can request the withdrawal.
The Ministry of Finance estimates that the average amount of reimbursements is R$ 2,8 thousand. The first payment is scheduled for March 28. The amount varies according to the length of service and the salaries received at the time.
Vanessa Delamare Campos, an analyst at Serpro, the company responsible for developing REPIS Cidadão, emphasizes that the platform was designed to be intuitive and accessible. “With Repis Cidadão, anyone can check if there are amounts to be withdrawn and see the procedures to withdraw this money, as the platform provides guidance for both the direct beneficiary and in cases where the heirs are the beneficiaries,” explains Vanessa.
The system also provides detailed information for heirs, advising on the necessary documents for the withdrawal.
According to Leonardo Paoliello, leader of the development team at Serpro, the REPIS project started in August 2023, when the Caixa data was transferred to Serpro. During 2024, the processing of reimbursement requests was structured, with information exchange between the institutions.
In December 2024, the Ministry of Finance approved the creation of REPIS Cidadão, enhancing process transparency and allowing citizens to have direct access to the consultation.
Ariadne Fonseca, director of Economic-Financial Business at Serpro, highlights the social relevance of REPIS, emphasizing that the project expands workers’ access to the resources they own.
She reinforces Serpro’s commitment to the Ministry of Finance in creating technological solutions aligned with government guidelines.
Difference Between Reimbursement and Wage Bonus
The Ministry of Labor and Employment warns that the amounts from the PIS/PASEP Fund are not related to the wage bonus of PIS/PASEP.
The wage bonus for 2025 is intended for workers who have worked with a signed work card for at least 30 days in 2023 and had an average salary of up to two minimum wages.
On the other hand, the reimbursement of the PIS/PASEP Fund quotas is aimed at workers who worked between 1971 and 1988 and have not yet made the withdrawal. The consultation is free and can be done through the REPIS Cidadão website.
