During last Tuesday (12/20), SBM Offshore announced that it has resumed oil and gas production on the FPSO Cidade de Anchieta platform, which has been operating for Petrobras since 2012. The company had halted operations on the vessel after discovering oil near the vessel, but carried out the necessary repairs and maintenance to continue operations at the site. The work will continue until the end of 2023 on the vessel, but production may continue routinely.

The Dutch offshore operator SBM Offshore announced last Tuesday the resumption of an important asset for the oil and gas market.

This concerns the FPSO Cidade de Anchieta platform, which had been suspended since the beginning of the year but resumed production early this week.

The company had conducted an unexpected halt on the vessel at the beginning of 2022 after confirming the presence of oil in the region near the ship.

Now, SBM Offshore has announced that maintenance and repairs on four tanks have been completed, allowing operations on the vessel to continue.

The FPSO platform has been working for Petrobras since 2012 and has been an important asset for the oil and natural gas market.

With the resumption of production, the state company will be able to continue leveraging the quality and potential of the vessel for its activities.

SBM Offshore also assured that repair work on the remaining tanks will continue until at least the end of 2023 to ensure the necessary safety for the continuity of production on the Cidade de Anchieta platform.

Now, it is expected that Petrobras will resume operations at full steam and expand oil and natural gas production with the FPSO, while SBM Offshore continues to ensure the necessary structural quality for this.
