Applications for the Second Edition of the Unified Selection System (Sisu) 2019 Started This Tuesday, the 4th, with a Record Number of Available Spots.
There will be 59,028 in 76 public educational institutions across the country, compared to 57,271 in 2018. The highest number of enrollments will be for the courses of Administration (1,996), Pedagogy (1,989), and Biological Sciences (1,748). According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), 69% of the spots are offered by federal universities.
In the overall ranking of seats allocated for new students, Minas is in second place, with 8,479, coming in behind only Rio de Janeiro, which has 12,937. Third is Bahia, with 6,745; and fourth is Paraíba, with 5,990.

Interested parties must access the page sisu.mec.gov.br and complete the registration by Friday, June 7th. It is necessary to provide the registration number for the Enem 2018 and the most recent access password. Those who do not remember the information must retrieve it on the Sisu electronic page.
The result of the regular call will be announced on June 10th. Enrollment must be completed between the 12th and 17th. The deadline to join the waiting list is from June 11th to 17th, and the calling of these students will occur after the 19th.
Anyone who took the Enem exam in 2018 and scored above zero on the essay can participate in Sisu.
Of the total number of available spots, 26,535 will be filled according to the Quotas Law (Law 12.711/12), which stipulates that 50% of enrollments in federal universities and federal technical high schools must be reserved for students from public schools.
Under the law, there is a reservation of spots for black, brown, and indigenous individuals, according to the percentage of these populations in the federal units.
The vacancy consultation has been open on the Sisu website since the 23rd. Participants can search by course, educational institution, or municipality of interest. “It is very important for the student to plan throughout the year to make the best choice,” says the Secretary of Higher Education of the MEC, Arnaldo Barbosa de Lima.
According to the ministry, most of the spots (51.07%) are full-time. This semester, 19,458 (33%) evening spots are being offered.
