The process for obtaining the ISO 56.002 certification was quite lengthy, and State Grid underwent 6 months of analysis to verify its innovation initiatives in the national electrical segment. Furthermore, projects that still need to be completed to meet the standard were also considered.
During this stage of the process, adjustments were made to demonstrate, through the audit process conducted by the Australian certification body QMS, the efficiency of its innovation management system.
PALAS Consulting Implemented the Process for Obtaining ISO 56.002 Certification and State Grid Reinforces Its Presence in the Electricity Sector
In addition to contributing to a more attractive view of the national electric energy market, the ISO 56.002 certification also served as motivation for State Grid to continue investing in innovation in the segment, according to the company’s Engineering Director, Danilo Sousa. The company is focusing on the exchange of electrical sector knowledge with companies from the State Grid group in China and currently has 10 R&D projects in its development portfolio, contributing to new innovations.
The entire process of implementing the phases for obtaining the certification was carried out by PALAS consulting, and the company’s director, Alexandre Pierro, commented on the journey and highlighted that “The achievement of ISO 56.002 demonstrates the alignment between State Grid Brazil and the best market practices in innovation management. Furthermore, it provides a significant competitive advantage to the company, positioning it as a pioneer in the market in the search for innovative solutions that can enhance or expand operational and technological efficiency in the energy transmission segment.”
ISO 56.002 certification was launched in 2019 and serves as proof that companies with the document are prepared to address the needs of their operating segment, considering the following criteria: process approach, future-focused leadership, insight management, strategic direction, resilience and adaptability, value generation, adaptive culture, and management of uncertainties.
