The latest launch from Stellantis, the Peugeot 408, represents a significant leap in design and technology in the SUV market. Initially presented in 2023, it is set to debut later this year. The new 408 distinguishes itself from traditional sedans, taking on crossover characteristics and, notably, a coupe design, entering an increasingly popular segment.

The Peugeot 408 impresses with its striking design. With generous dimensions of 4.68 meters in length and a wheelbase of 2.78 meters, it offers a spacious trunk with a capacity of 560 liters. Its appearance is enhanced by the front grille with chrome details, saber-tooth shaped daytime running lights, and an adaptable full LED lighting system. The side profile stand out with the elegant slope of the roof coupe style and 19-inch wheels.

Engine Of The New Peugeot 408

The new 408 brings an interesting plug-in hybrid engine, with potential to reach Brazil. The base engine is a 1.6 turbo four-cylinder, complemented by an electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 225 horsepower and 36.7 kgfm of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission ensures remarkable performance, with impressive fuel efficiency.

In terms of safety, the Peugeot 408 is one of the most comprehensive in its segment, equipped with features such as collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane-keeping assist, among others.

Market Expectations

The Peugeot 408 competes in a luxury segment, with more sophisticated mid-size SUVs. Although prices are not yet defined, the model is expected to be in the price range of the current 3008, ranging between R$ 260,000 and R$ 280,000.
