The Vice President of Subsea7 Brazil Region, Daniel Hiller, expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the Seven Vega.
According to the specialist, the company is extremely proud to bring the highly equipped Reel-Lay vessel Seven Vega to operate in its projects in Brazil. With this addition, it plans to achieve its highest activity level ever recorded in the country this year.
After passing by the naval base of Triunfo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the Seven Vega headed towards the base of Ubu, in Espírito Santo, which underwent a complete renovation to support various projects.
The Ubu base has been equipped with modern and environmentally friendly technology to meet the growing demand for projects such as Bacalhau, Mero 3, and Búzios 8.
According to Hiller, the new facility spans 2,276 meters and covers an area of 74,000 square meters.
In this area, Subsea7 will be responsible for the production of high-quality rigid risers for the pre-salt, which meet demanding requirements. Additionally, they will also produce the first rigid pipeline with a polymeric internal coating.
The arrival of the Seven Vega and the renovation of the Ubu base strengthen Subsea7’s position as one of the leading offshore construction companies in Brazil.
New Vessel Seven Vega in the Fleet Features a Modern Design and Structure to Meet Offshore Market Demands
The addition of the new support vessel Seven Vega to Subsea7’s fleet marks another investment in the global offshore market.
With a length of 149 meters and a width of 33 meters, the Seven Vega is a cutting-edge vessel not only due to its size but also because of its high-tech equipment.
The Seven Vega features compact dimensions thanks to the strategic positioning of the three engine rooms and the main reel, as well as the efficient use of the superstructure and the low-draft line launch tower.
Equipped with two cranes — one with a capacity of 250 tons and another with a capacity of 50 tons — as well as several smaller cranes and two remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) systems, the Seven Vega has a wide range of features for underwater operations.
The main crane is fully electric, allowing for quick adjustments of lifting parameters without the need for manual adaptations to the active lifting system.
Thus, with the arrival of the vessel Seven Vega to Subsea7’s support fleet, the company advances its position in the global offshore market.
