Discover The Details Of The Engine That Could ‘Retire’ Electric Cars In The Next Generation. Mazda’s New Gasoline Engine Promises To Revolutionize The Global Automotive Industry.

The new rotary engine from Mazda was designed by Félix Wankel in 1919, a young German who aimed to create a new type of gasoline engine. Even though he had no experience in internal combustion engine engineering, young Félix persisted in his idea of inventing an engine that was simple, efficient and capable of supporting all stages of internal combustion in an innovative way.

Félix Wankel and his team at NSU Motorenwerke succeeded in building the first functional prototype of the rotary engine in 1959, catching the attention of numerous car manufacturers, including the Japanese manufacturer Mazda Motor Company, which saw high potential in this technology and decided to invest in it to stand out in the automotive industry.

Currently, Mazda has been challenging Tesla with its new rotary engine, which promises to end the electrified era, making electric cars obsolete and showing that it is possible to have gasoline, ethanol, and/or diesel cars without significantly harming the environment. Check it out below.

Meet The New Rotary Engine From Mazda

Mazda Motor has brought back the rotary engine, but with some innovative changes. The new Mazda MX-30 REV features a single rotor rotary engine, unlike the previous models that used two-rotor rotary engines. This redesign of the rotary engine reflects Mazda’s focus on sustainable mobility, implementing significant improvements for performance and environmental efficiency.

Mazda MX-30 Is An Electric SUV With A Rotary Engine As A Generator

Even though the new rotary engine model has lower RPMs and slightly reduced power compared to the RX-8 engine, the new rotary engine from the Japanese manufacturer has been completely refined with the aim of providing a much more polished performance that is conscious of nature conservation.

Furthermore, the implementation of direct fuel injection and the recirculation of exhaust gases are just some of the improvements made by Mazda, ensuring the vehicle has significantly enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions.

So After All, What Are The Benefits Of The New Rotary Engine From Mazda?

The rotary engine from the Japanese manufacturer offers a number of benefits compared to traditional engines. It operates smoothly and quietly, coupled with a significant reduction in the number of moving parts, which increases reliability, decreasing the need for frequent maintenance and reducing vibrations when in operation.

Additionally, the high RPM of the new rotary engine from Mazda is quite appealing to enthusiasts, contributing to positive opinions about the futuristic propulsion technology of this engine. Not to mention that the simplicity of the design with only two moving parts in a single rotor engine represents a significant advancement in terms of performance and efficiency.

New Engine Could Be The Reason That Might Make Electric Cars Obsolete

Considering that the future of the automotive industry is electrification, we can emphasize that Tesla is one of the biggest brands in this sector and invests heavily in the production of electric cars, prompting other major brands to manufacture vehicles that match or even exceed those made by Tesla.

With the update of Mazda’s rotary engine, which will also be used as a range extender in the Mazda MX-30 REV, the Japanese manufacturer fuels a certain rivalry with Tesla, in the sense of presenting this new engine as the ‘pivot’ for the end of the electrified era.

To provoke Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, Mazda implies that the new engine will make electric cars obsolete, due to all its attributes. The rotary engine powers a generator capable of providing energy to charge the battery or even move the vehicle.

The Future Of The New Rotary Engine From Mazda

Moreover, there are rumors about the possible launch of the Mazda RX-9, suggesting that the model could combine a rotary engine with an electric one, resulting in an incredibly efficient and powerful hybrid car. It can be said, then, that there are indeed reasons for Tesla to “tremble”.

Regardless, Mazda continues to study new applications to promote even more improvements for the new rotary engine. With the return of this engine to the automotive market, its evolution challenges the supremacy of the electric car industry.
