Chevrolet Onix Activ returns to Brazil with an adventurous proposal and higher ground clearance.
Chevrolet announced the return of the Chevrolet Onix Activ to the Brazilian market after seven years out of production. The model, which arrives in the coming months, brings significant changes in design and mechanics, focusing on higher ground clearance and reinforced suspension.
The news was confirmed by the automaker as a strategy to compete in the space between hatchbacks and compact SUVs. Thus, the car bets on versatility and cost-effectiveness to attract consumers looking for a more robust model.
Chevrolet Onix Activ gains a more robust and functional proposal
Unlike the previous generation, the new Chevrolet Onix Activ is no longer just a version with an adventurous appearance. Now, the model receives structural changes that allow it to tackle rougher terrains more safely.

Additionally, the car is 61 mm taller, reaching a total height of 1.53 m. The ground clearance also stands out, with 201 mm, ensuring better performance on urban obstacles and dirt roads.
With this, the Chevrolet Onix Activ positions itself as an intermediate alternative between traditional hatchbacks and sports utility vehicles.
Chevrolet targets competition with compact SUVs
The proposal of the Chevrolet Onix Activ is to compete directly with models like Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian, and Volkswagen Tera. Nevertheless, Chevrolet does not classify the car as an SUV, but rather as an “adventurous” model.
This strategy aims to attract consumers who want a taller car but do not want to pay the price of a full sports utility vehicle. Therefore, the focus is on balancing price, performance, and equipment.

Furthermore, the model also aims to attract customers from more basic versions of SUVs, especially those with manual transmission.
Chevrolet Onix Activ engine bets on efficiency and performance
The new Chevrolet Onix Activ comes equipped with a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine, already known in the Brazilian market. This engine delivers up to 115 horsepower and 16.8 kgfm of torque with ethanol.
The transmission is a six-speed automatic, which enhances comfort in daily driving. According to official data, fuel consumption can reach 14.6 km/l on the highway with gasoline.
Thus, the model combines good performance with energy efficiency, an important factor for today’s consumer.
The design of the new car brings an exclusive identity
Visually, the Chevrolet Onix Activ features exclusive elements that reinforce its adventurous proposal. Among the highlights are the traditional brand emblem with a dark finish and distinctive details on the front grille.
Additionally, the model features exclusive wheels and a functional roof rack, enhancing its versatility. The crystal lens taillights also debut on the car, bringing a more modern look.
These changes ensure a unique identity within the Onix line, making the model easily recognizable.

Chevrolet Onix Activ bets on technology and added value
Another strong point of the Chevrolet Onix Activ is the list of equipment. The model is expected to feature a digital dashboard, built-in Wi-Fi, and a five-year warranty, items that add value to the product.
According to the automaker, the proposal is to offer real differentiators to the consumer.
“The New Onix Activ will arrive in the coming months with a strategically thought-out proposal to deliver real differentiation and high perceived value, combining items like a digital dashboard, built-in Wi-Fi, a five-year warranty, and competitive performance within the category,” said Paula Saiani, Product Marketing Director of GM South America.
Thus, the Chevrolet Onix Activ returns to the market with a more complete proposal, targeting consumers looking for a versatile, modern car ready for different types of use.
