The energy giant in Brazil, Eneva, wins 3R Petroleum in the dispute for Petrobras' onshore fields in Amazonas, called Polo Urucu

Petrobras informed in a material fact (01/01) that it received binding proposals and started the negotiation phase with the energy leader in Brazil, Eneva, for the sale of its entire stake in a set of seven onshore oil fields, called Polo Urucu, located in the Solimões Basin, in the state of Amazonas. According to Petrobras' report, the "signature of the sales contracts is subject to the success of the negotiations, which involve commercial and contractual aspects of the transaction to be approved by the decision-making bodies of both parties."

Values ​​offered by Eneva and 3R Petroleum for the dispute over the onshore fields

In December last year, Petrobras stated that the values ​​offered by the onshore oil fields in Amazonas were close to US$ 1 billion and US$ 600 million. “Petrobras also informs that, when analyzing the offers of 3R Petroleum and Eneva, takes into account in the analysis of the offers all value components and other conditions reflected in the proposals, including firm payments, contingent payments and other relevant contractual conditions, so that the amounts disclosed in the media do not provide a sufficient basis for comparing the offers received”, said the state-owned company.

About Petrobras' Urucu Hub in the Amazon

Petrobras' Urucu-Coari-Manaus gas pipeline began operations in 2009 and has the capacity to transport 5,5 million cubic meters/day. The gas pipeline connects the production units located at the Arara Complex, in Urucu, to the city of Manaus, in the state of Amazonas.

The length of this path is 663,2 km (Urucu – Manaus section), in addition to a total of 139,3 km in nine branches to Coari.

The natural gas transported in this gas pipeline in the Amazon reaches the Manauara, Tambaqui, Jaraqui, Aparecida, Mauá, Cristiano Rocha and Ponta Negra – Urucu-Coari-Manaus plants. In them, it generates 760 MW of electricity.
