Known as “Jumbo”, the tower is a notable example of Victorian engineering and has become a symbol of the city. Its height and structure distinguish it as the tallest tower in the country in its category.
Revitalization Project Focused on Cultural and Historical Aspects
Since 2021, North Essex Heritage, an organization dedicated to preserving architectural heritage, has taken on a 150-year lease to restore the tower.
