Toyota has brought to the Brazilian market the most robust and sporty version of its iconic pickup, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport 2024. With a price around R$ 373,000, depending on the region, this version promises to please sports car and tuned vehicle enthusiasts, who prefer a fully equipped car without the need to invest in customization accessories.

Powerful Engine and Surprising Performance

The standout feature of the Hilux GR Sport lies in its mechanics. Equipped with a 2.8 turbo diesel engine, the same used in the conventional versions of the Hilux, the difference here is in the 224 horsepower, 20 more than the standard model. Additionally, the torque is also impressive: it offers 55 kgfm, ensuring extra force during accelerations and climbs. With this, the pickup accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h.

Another advantage is that the engine does not require the use of Arla 32, a fluid usually used in diesel engines to reduce emissions. With the simple use of diesel S10, you already ensure efficient and eco-friendly performance.

Toyota invested heavily in aesthetic modifications ranging from a more aggressive bumper to the Black Piano details and the GR Gazoo Racing emblem, the brand’s sports division.

Inside, the Hilux GR Sport does not disappoint. The instrument panel is predominantly analog, but with red LED details and the GR emblem, giving it a sporty appearance. Although it is a modern car, it still lacks a full digital display, which may disappoint those expecting cutting-edge technology in every aspect.

The steering wheel features height and depth adjustments and has red stitching details, reinforcing the sporty look. In addition, the pickup is equipped with pedal shifts for manual gear changes and adaptive cruise control (ACC), which adjusts the speed according to the traffic ahead, making long trips easier.

Aerodynamics and Functional Modifications

One point that caught attention was the absence of the traditional rear spoiler, which, according to Toyota, was removed due to mounting issues that caused vibrations in the bodywork. The spoiler, which had an aerodynamic function, is expected to be reintroduced in future versions after this issue is resolved. This change increased the aerodynamic coefficient to 0.51, above the ideal value of 0.44, which will be corrected with the new spoiler.

Off-Road and Load Capacity of the Toyota Hilux GR

Besides the design and performance on pavement, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport was designed to tackle more challenging terrains. With the 4×4 traction system and a set of suspensions recalibrated by GR, the pickup offers stability and comfort in any situation. Its load capacity is up to 1000 kg in the bed, with a towing capacity of up to 3500 kg with brakes, making it a true machine for those in need of strength and resilience.
